MISSION COMPLETE FOR USMC Sgt. STEPHEN CARPENTER.......

Rock and I (Winger) want to thank everyone that attended todays mission.
There were 8 new riders with a total of 28 riders and 3 cages.
A BIG THANKS goes out to Angel that gave mission pins to all the first timers!!
Angel is also the PGR's angel for taking pictures of the days events and sharing them with us.
A BIG THANKS also goes out to RingLord that provided the commerative dog tags.
Gunnery Sergeant Craig, you called orders and carried the Marine flag with honor.

The family of Sgt. Carpenter proudly wore the dog tags and were most honored for them.

Tracy, Mom and Dad and family members, it was our HONOR to be invited to your sons farewell.

At the memorial in Riverside I presented Mrs. Carpenter with the remaining dog tags so that she
could share them with others at the memorial in New Mexico.

Mom and Dad and Tracy, I feel that we are close like old friends.
I couldn't put into words today what I felt in my heart.
Every one of the Patriot Guard Riders will wear your sons dog tag
as a rememberance of what a fine young man he was and a true patriot.
Your son has now joined GODS Marines where he will rejoin all his friends and
welcome those fine young men that come to join him.

We know he will do us proud.

In closing, I am SO PROUD of the fine men and women of the PGR that joined us in honoring
your son today.

Our mission is simple.........WE WILL NEVER FORGET.

I had the honor of my first PGR Mission for Sgt. Carpenter today, 08 August 2006. I lost my father, Harold E. Thompson, USMC on Monday, 31 July 2006 and was unable to travel to Detroit, Mich for his services. I feel that I was able to honor my father as well this day.

I believe Sgt. Carpenter was in Motor-T 3/11 as he was my son's sergeant at Twenty Nine, Palms. I can't remember the code.

Hello Boomer,

It was great to meet you and follow your lead
to the mortuary and cemetery. You did a fine
job of pacing the line of cars and bikes.

It was a pleasure and honor to ride with the PGR to escort Sgt Carpenter, I am sure he was a fine marine. To the familiy and friends who were close to him, although this is a great loose. You had a chance to be with him, i am sure he was a fine man, i never got the chance to meet him.

Cherish those memories.

Great turnout everyone. Outstanding!

Thanks to all who participated. Special thanks to all the newbies. It was great to see so many female participants as well.

Rock & Winger: Great job as always.

FLBatfish: Fine job calling out orders. Makes me almost want to ask: "Pegleg Who?" :)

Thanks to RingLord and Angel for providing the extra flags and much needed refreshments.

Angel : Great pics as always.

Newbies: Thanks for signing up and I look forward to seeing your faces again hopefully on more joyous occasions.

To the family of Sgt Carpenter: Thank you for letting us be a part of the celebration of the life of your son. We were indeed honored to participate. As I'm sure many have felt but not expressed, it is through these gatherings that some of our own members who were Vets of the Vietnam conflict in particular can fine some closure and solace and honor today's fallen heroes in a way they were never received. Welcome home boys.

Respectfully,

Primo

Once again the PGR overwhelms me with the amount of caring, dedication and RESPECT they demonstrate at yet another mission. Jerry thank you for those kind words, I wasn't expecting the amount of first-timers today. I'm sorry for the one or two who went without a pin. I will have more next time, just hit me up.
Below is a link to the pictures I took today, if you can, please leave a comment under the pictures without names (screen name and first name) and identify the faces for me. I would like to be able to match the faces with some names.
