OK Folks, I just spoke to Yarmouth and of course rain or shine the parade is on. She will understand if we wish not to attend due to weather in differnet parts of Maine. I am going to head to Dresden about 2 and see how things are going. She would love for us to attend so if it isn't pouring buckets I'm going. I have my snorkle *S*. If any one eles is coming please let me know. Thanks

I will be there rain or shine.

If it's raining straight down at 3:30, I'll be "Cajun" it.

This Afternoon:

Showers and thunderstorms likely, mainly after 4pm. Mostly cloudy, with a high around 76. Calm wind. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New rainfall amounts of less than a tenth of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.

Here's a weather site

See ya at staging.

I will be going rain or shine. If anyone wants to ride down from the Augusta area I will be at the Civic Center at 2:45, kickstand up at 3:00. This should allow time to get to Yarmouth even if it starts to rain (provided there isn't any lightning)! See you in Yarmouth!

Well it was a great day for a parade. The rain came and went before parade time. There was some rumbleings of thunder in the distance but we did not see hardly a drop of rain during the entire parade route.

During the parade, it was awesome to hear the cheers from the people along the parade route. As soon as they saw the PGR flags and emblems on the bikes and truck they erupted into applause. My 8 year old grandson Zane and 4 year old Zebadiah sat in the back of the truck. Zane was holding an American Flag and wearing a PGR member cap and Zeb was holding a PGR flag. Some veterans would salute the American Flag and Zane would salute back. You could see the pride in their faces and his. They really know what we are all about.

It has been a long day, the kids are all showered and tucked into bed, and now I shall follow their lead.

It was nice meeting all of you...

Sincerely, JoAnn

Hey JoAnn,

It was great to meet you and have your help today.

Thanks for supplying the cold water and support vehicle, and thanks for driving up from Connecticut.

Your boys are so well behaved I couldn't believe it. GOOD JOB MOM!!!

I'll bet they had a great time, the adults certainly seemed to.   They'll probably sleep real well tonight.

You guys are welcome anytime.

Well let me say its another parade mission completed . Sorry everyone I read the map wrong an got us lost. I should of known better living down the street grrrrrrrrr but I havent had much time to do it right. But with that said I think all in all was a great time for the few that showed up Wish there were a better showing tho. I learned a few thing like even with a small group I should of had a re stagging area. I knew it was important for larger groups but even small ones can get seperated too, The weather wasnt a factor except as usual it was Hot !!!!!!!!!!! Glad to have Asha back Thanks to Christine for another mission well done. And way to go dimples glad you and the kids came, It gave a good and new dimension have a cage along with us for the parade. Thanks again for the honor to be with such good people doing great things

Hey Steve,

That's what I was waiting for.

Great Job everyone, what a bunch of hams.

The PGR women were back there revving, honking and hollering. Other members were yelling, "Any Patriotic Americans out there?" and the crowd would go nuts.

"Any veterans out there?" The crowd would applaud them as they raised their hand. Then our guys would have the crowd on opposite sides of the street compete in who could cheer the loudest.

Asha seems to have a rev-limiter and knows how to use it. I got the occasional obligatory Harley backfire, both seemed to please the "kids" of all ages.

Lots of thumbs up, smiles and waving, I saw nothing negative.

I'd say it was a very successful event, bringing patriotism back to the people.

Once again, good job, another "feelgood mission" complete, and (to quote James Brown)

"I Feel Good"

By the way...who has the photos?

Great job everyone! Sorry I wasn't there in a solid, physical form, but I was with you in spirit. Glad the rain held off for the parade. We had a great time at the the Maine State HOG rally in Sugarloaf. We dodged the weather as well. It co-operated until all the events were over. My Mid-Maine Lewiston Chapter dominated the field events and we have returned the coveted Downeast Ski Race trophy to Lewiston! By the way, I just wanted to let you all know that I will be assuming the position of Chapter Director as of August 1st, so if you need any assistance from us don't hesitate to ask.

Sounds like you all had a great time.

Sorry I couldn't make it. Had to take my bike to the shop on thursday. The speedo cable came out and damgaged the speedometer. When I got home from the shop my computer was on the fritz so I couldn't get online to say I couldn't make it. Just got it up an hour ago.

Hey Everyone,

What a great time on Friday. Sorry I have not posted before this but after the parade I went north to camp and turned the cell of and there is no computer there.  Steve, thanks for everything. The end separation was unexpected but things do happen.  I think it was my fault. I wanted to call Rick and catch up with him and the kids after that we had a great gentleman come by and talk to Asha and I, what a special person he was.  He thank us for everything we do and I hope to see him onthe web site soon.  What a hard time finding the parade staging area.  I'm still not sure where the heck I was but finally got there.

As for the parade, what a good time the folks in Yarmouth were great.  We got them yelling and really getting involved with us. I have never seen anything like it.  I am sure Yarmouth will not forget us anytime soon.

Everyone have a great week and till next time:

Traveling to Yarmouth and back: $6.10
Snacks and meals before and after the parade: $9.60
Hearing Asha proclaim that she was losing her voice because she was yelling too much during the parade: Priceless! =)

Just kidding...great job Asha getting the crowd (and our own PGR members) involved with interacting with the spectators. It took parade watching to a whole new level...good PR (Public Relations) for the PGR...well done to all.

On another PR note...participation during parades is definitely a plus for the PGR. Folks seem to enjoy looking at the many different types of bikes as well as applaud our mission and what we represent. I know the weather wasn't on our side this time around but it sure would be nice if we could get a 100 bikes at the next parade if the organizers allow it!
