SHORT NOTICE UPDATE
We have been cleared to park bikes in front of the terminal. I will be there at 1500 hrs. so when you come into the area in front of the terminal look for it (Electra Glide) as to the designated parking location. Keep in mind, when we park there we have to have one person outside with the bikes at all times. Rules are rules.... and some we must adhere to!!!!!!!
We have all the issues with the air carrier, TSA, Airport Police worked out so it should be pretty seamless.
Till tomorrow.......

INTINERARY UPDATE
I just received the following information on the returning of the Military Police Company C, Headquarters and Service Battalion, 4th MLG, Marines Forces Reserve.
Two groups are coming into Dayton International tomorrow, 14 October. Their scheduled arrivals are;
Group One - 24 Marines Arrival time - 1630 hrs.
Group Two - 36 Marines Arrival time - 2300 hrs.
The troops are going to depart/disperse from the airport. So therefore a procession to a selected destination will not be needed.
We will stage inside the airport in the baggage claim area at the following times;
Group One - Stage time 1600 hrs.
Group Two - Stage time 2230 hrs.
Parking will be on your own, in one of the airport parking lots, at your choosing.
~~~~~ See parking update below ~~~~~
For folks coming to the first group and wishing to stay for the second, we could load up and get a bite to eat somewhere..... just a thought.
I know the notice is short and the second group is a late arrival, but the logistics and timing of their travels are such that sometimes we just have to roll with the punches.....
It would be nice to have some support to show these troops a big thanks, welcome home, and a job well done handshake. The PGR has always come through and I have no doubts.........
I'll be there.......
Got this following e-mail from the pres of our local RT chapter here in Ohio Thought it would be nice to participate. Doc
Hello all,
The correspondence below is from a Marine Corps Sgt.. His unit is an MP Unit based here in Dayton. I believe we need to start planting the seed to give these deserving people a giant welcome home. I am asking everyone to work on this one really hard. They need to know we appreciate what they are doing to maintain our Countries Freedom. I will keep everyone updated as I hear from him. If you have any ideas please let me know.
Regards, David Courtney AKA PoleClimber President Rolling Thunder® Inc. Chapter 11 Ohio
Dave How are things going back there in the states, things are the same here. All my Marines are doing great. I wanted to touch base with you on what we talked about previously. We are looking to come back in the first, two second week of Oct. The entire company is coming to WP so if it is possible i would like to get these kids the welcome home that they will never forget. They have done alot of great things for this country. I can give you more dates once we get closer. Also you can contact my wife and she will have the best information from me. If there is anything that i can do to make sure these kids get what i feel they rate please dont hesitate to ask.
Thanks again for everything Bernie
Once thing on a personal note when can i get my colors.
| Great idea , let's do it! There are restrictions to getting bikes on base (rider gear) when time gets closer contact public affairs at Wright-Patterson AFB for information. Basic safety requirements: helmet & eye protection, full finger gloves, long sleeves, long pants and sturdy shoes (boots), reflective vest for night or brightly colored shirt/jacket. If a rider does not meet these requirements they will not be permitted on base. Not my rules AF regulations. I'm sure the base will give the PGR access with the proper safety gear. |
I think this would be great, we just had a great send off in w.v. ,we were on the runway with the c-130,,flags everywhere, and 135plus riders. i think if you get this started earliy and get some high ups to clear us, it could be grrreeeaaattt!!! just make a big deal about the gear regs.......i always forget about the full fingered gloves.hate to have guys come along way to be turned away at the gates.
there should be a good bit of us from PA there. |
