This is a Confirmed ANC Mission

Capt. Mark R. McDowell, 26, of Colorado Springs, Colo. was assigned to the 336th Fighter Squadron, Seymour Johnson Air Force Base, N.C. He was one of two airmen who were supporting Operation Enduring Freedom that  died July 17 in a F-15E crash near Ghazni Province, Afghanistan.

Capt. McDowell is to be laid to his final rest on the hallowed grounds of Arlington National Cemetery (ANC) on 15 October, 2009, at approximately 0900 hours from the Old Post Chapel on Ft Myer.  PGR will be there - standing tall, silent & proud for this true American Hero.

15 OCT 09 Mission Plan

Stage:     0730 hrs    Iwo Jima Memorial (Marine Corps War Memorial)
Brief:       0740 hrs
Transit:    0750 hrs    to Old Chapel
Honors:   0800 hrs    Flag Line at Old Chapel
 
Honors:   0930 hrs    Graveside ANC (time approx.)

Ride Captain:  TBA  (in the interim contact the undersigned)

Iron Horses preferred, cages welcome as always.
Mounted large flags preferred for transit (furl upon ANC parking).
Large hand-held flags desired for Honor Flag Line.
Military mandated ID / gear ARE required for this mission.

   (Photo ID, long pants and sleeves, full finger gloves, over-ankle boots
   face shield / goggles / windshield, reflective vest or belt or jacket).
Check the weather - dress & hydrate accordingly.

Remember we are here to honor the Hero and  family, friends, and
comrades-in-arms, and to stand tall, silent and proud.  If you cannot
join us, please set aside a moment of silence at the appointed hour,
to reflect on their sacrifice.
