01 Jun 2006 9:54 AM Alert
William Nicholson, LCpl, USMC, passed away 25 May 2006 after a lengthy stay in several hospitals.  "Nick" as he was known had been a Korean War Marine and had served with the 5th Marines at the Chosin Reservoir.

The dates of his church service are not known at this time nor do we know if the Patriot Guard will be allowed to participate.  Nick was a member of the Devildogs Motorcycle Club so I doubt his wife would not want us there.

Tentative dates are 10 or 17 June with a service in Tyler and the interment will be at the DFW National Cemetery.  Nick has been cremated but the holdup is the arrival of extended family members.

Further word will be passed when available.

Rest in Peace my brother, you have earned your time in Heaven...

Due to circumstances beyond our control, this misssion is off! STAND DOWN

Nick was cremated on the 30th and his wife is asking now that only the DevilDogs Motorcycle Club attend his memorial. Nick was a founding member in the DevilDogs and always told her that regardless of what she needed to call on us and we would take care of her. He was right...

Rest well in the knowledge that your time here was well spent and you will never be forgotten. As any Combat Marine will tell you, "No man is gone until he is forgotten". Nick, we will wear your name with our colors and feel honored doing so.
