CONFIRMED @ 1125 June 3, 2006

Post for Cheshire County NH, points south & west

The Patriot Guard Riders have been invited to ride in honor of Capt. Douglas A. Dicenzo, 30, of Plymouth, N.H.~ 04 Jun 06 1230

Departing from Keene, NH at 0950 SHARP!

If you can make this mission, please meet me in Keene at the parking lot of the old Bickford’s (soon to be Pizza Hut) near the intersection of Route 101/12 & Winchester Street/Route 10 at 0930 Monday; pre-ride brief at 0945.

There is a Sunoco Gas station at the intersection and a McDonalds & Wendy’s next door.

We’ll be joining the southern NH group in Bow, NH at the I93 Exit just north of where 89/93 meet; they will be passing this exit at about 1115 and we will need to be fueled and mounted as they pass.

There will be a slight deviation to this stop from last week’s mission.  To make this formation, we’ll need to be in Bow before 1100.

Form there we will proceed – in formation to the final rally point established by the Grafton County Ride Captain (quoted below).

“This mission is now OFFICIALLY CONFIRMED!!!!!!!
Please bring a 3'x5' American Flag on a pole with you to this mission.
The staging area is at the Field House (PE Facility) parking area of PSU, which is almost directly across the street from the Mobil station at exit 25 off Rt. 93. Please plan to meet here NLT 1200 hours.
From the south: Take exit 25, right off the exit, under the overpass, and the driveway is on the right side of the road across from the Mobil station.”

The weather looks unpredictable, please plan accordingly.

If you plan to ride with us, please let me know so I can contact others with approximate head count. Also, let me know if you will be on two wheels or four and how many will be with you (Although I really only need to know the number of vehicles please let me know the number of people, one up, two up, three in a car, etc).

We will have a safety briefing at 0945 - prior to departure, so be there NLT 0940 with a full tank and ready to roll.

Departing at 0950 SHARP!

Looking forward to having a great turnout for Capt Dicenzo.

All,
After looking at the weather reports, we need to prepare for wet weather.

Don't forget that Capt Dicenzo paid the ultimate price for our freedom.  A couple rain drops (even a complete drenching) should not be a deterent from paying our respects to this hero!!

See you in the parking lot at Plymouth State University Field House at 1200(ish) tomorrow.

Dear Patriot Guard Riders,

Allow me to introduce myself.  My name is Erica McKeel  and I am an army wife.  However I write to you today because I am/was Doug and Nicole DiCenzo’s neighbor here in Germany.  I can not thank you enough for supporting her and her family at this time.  I know things ended up being last minute but you are rising to the occasion and that warms my heart.  Nicole contacted us this morning to tell us about the possibility of protestors and we where heart broken that she would have to go through such a thing.  I want to thank you for doing all you can to keep her from having such a horrible experience while she is trying to celebrate Doug’s life.  Please allow me to include part of an e-mail I received from Nicole.

The chief of police just came by the house - friend of the family - great guy.  It seems there is a group out there that comes to military funerals with signs that say "Doug deserved to die" It is an extreme church that targets people killed with IED's.  That is all I know.  But the police chief has been to their website and they are awful.  They are already advertising Doug's funeral.  …..

There is another group of ex-military motorcyclists that are coming that want to support Doug.  The police chief is directing them to stand in front of the protesters.  So God Bless the Cyclers.  And God bless leather and long beards and braids.  I want to hug every one of them.

But I need the power of prayer here.  I don't want to see any signs saying that.  I don't know if I could handle that right now.  So can everyone get their prayers going that these people get stuck in Boston without any chance of getting here.  And if they do get here, pray that we are strong and that we don't react and that well, that something happens to make them absolutely and completely ashamed of themselves.  God has a plan.  God will work it out.  But PLEASE pray.  It will make me feel tons better about all of this.  How can people be so cruel? Love you guys.

Keep Smiling nic”

Thank you for giving Nicole hope and honoring Doug, such a wonderful person.

Erica,

I am proud to stand in honor of your neighbor and our hero; Capt Doug Dicenzo.

You may have seen it mentioned elsewhere on this site; the saying "It's not about us" is  frequently seen in postings by our members.

Our mission is to the families of our heros (like you) I am certain that my brothers and sisters of the PGR feel equally proud to serve the Dicenzo family in thier time of grief.

God bless you and your family for all the sacrifices you have endured in your service to our country.

PS - Welcome to the PGR family.

We just got back from Cpl Posivio's funeral in Welcome Mn. I feel that the Patriot Guard Riders and our new law (forbidding any demostrators to be within 500 ft. of the church or the grave, and no protest at the familys home the day of the funeral), helped to detur the Church Group from Kanas - so they bypassed his funeral for yours. I hope the Patriot Guard Riders in NH have the same success there that they had here in Welcome Mn, Praying for you and yours. God Bless.

wmpete,

We are thankful you had a peaceful sendoff for Cpl Posivio.

We are not concerned about anyone who tries to cause issues.  We gather to show honor and respect for our fallen hero(s).  If someone with ulterior motives shows up, we will show them the respect they deserve - none.  Remember, that is why we stand with our backs to them...to show that we don't even acknowledge their presence...period.  That is the epitomy of disrespect in the biker world...they don't even warrant a look over the shoulder.

Having said that, I do hope the rain will stay away for awhile tomorrow. LOL

Thanks for thinking of us, though!

Good Morning,
Just echoing highsalutes words. Ride smart, ride safe and ride with honor. My mother told me last night we have more pride and honor in our bones than we do smarts sometimes. Remember to ride with in your comfort zone no one will be left behind. Our number one mission is to honor our military but it does no good to push yourself and place yourself in harms way.

Thank you everyone for stepping up to the mission and I look forward to standing in honor with you.

Ms. McKeel,
Thank you for taking the time to send that letter. I have yet to be on a mission where any ug's (uninvited guests) have showed up. Hopefully Capt Dicenzo's will be the same. However, IF the ug's do decide to show their mugs, I have NO DOUBT that my PGR Brothers & Sisters will do everything possible to ensure the Dicenzo family is not disturbed in ANY way. That is our unwavering commitment for this mission and all others that we are invited to.

My sympathies to you and yours.

To honor someone for their protecting us is just a small part to what should be done to the family of these fallen. Hell, all of America should stand up at each of these, open their arms and try to help every military family that has gone thru this.

To Capt Dicenzo- You will live forever, your wife will teach your son about you and what you have done. She will teach him the same values and standards that you held your life to. In doing that he will forever be reminded that you are watching over them. You will help him during the hard days, and rejoice in the good times. And he will be proud of you, and forever love you, just as we know you love him.

To the family and friends of Capt Dicenzo- Help his wife teach their son the values they hold dear. Remember him, and instill in him the same rules and loves he did. He will need a connection to him, and will look to him for the tough times ahead. Give him the bit that he gave to you. Show him that honor, respect, and standing up for an idea is important, and worthy.

We all salute you; either hawk or dove, we come here to support and repect you. We are the silent voice of America that stands up when something not right rears it's head, and we stand up for you when you can't. We are just like you, with the same loves and desires.

It is because of those, we will stand that line between, and try to protect you. Take the time to remember him as he would want, leave the role of protector to us today, we can hold that duty. Rest now, and know that there is a family, 30,000+ strong, looking out for you and all those who toe the line, carry that rifle, lift that pack, and care for that wounded.

God Speed to all.

Just heard from sis, according to the boots on the ground, no protestor showed up and our presence was well appriciated. It seems that the group has stood up and did the family proud, according to first reports. On a soggy cold NH day, there were 50 to 75 bikes and 12 cars there showing up to support the family. A large thanks goes to our sister states, for arriving up here and helping this event go with little of no problems.

A big thanks from me, who is working.

Capt Dicenzo, you can rest know, we can help the rest of the way

One of 7 Maine PGR Members home safe!

Nicole: God answers prayers...he did yours...no extremist church goers! May God Comfort and Strengthen you. He surely has blessed you abudantly. You are one courageous & strong young lady.

It was my honor to stand in honor of your husband. Capt. Dicenzo was clearly a man of honor & love, of velvet & steel. Whom ever he met, he left his mark of kindness & grace. Unfortunately, I never had the privilege to meet him in person, yet it was evident that he touched the heart of all he met.

That little guy of yours, Dak...precious in the sight of the Lord! Fear not, he will grow strong & healthy in your love.

If we can ever assist you and your family, please, do not hesitate to call upon us.

Thanks for allowing us to come & honor Capt. Dicenzo. In loving gratitude, Asha

As I mentioned a while back, I went to Elementary and High School with Doug's Brother, Dan. I just wanted to thank ALL of you who went today for what you have done. I can't thank you enough. I can't think of a better way to honor a great person such as Doug. This is one of the reason that I joined the Patriot Guard Riders (the other was to be able to give those idiots from that Church the respect they deserve....NONE!!!!) Coastal Maine last rider home safe and sound. A bit wet but that is ok.

The Dicenzo Family, words will never express the feelings I went through today. You all are amazing, sweet and loving. The little one captured my heart with his wided eyed expressions and that sweet smile. Oh and him blowing kisses to all of us, you are going to have to watch that one here in a few years, he'll be stealing all the little girls hearts.

The strenght you all showed will help you through these next few steps of your life, but if you should ever need anything you know where to find us. Our mission doesn't stop just because the day is done.

Thank you for allowing us to be a part of honoring Doug's life. You will be in our thoughts and prayers, Christine

As always I took pride in standing today in honor of a true American Patriot and Hero. As always I mourned the loss of a great American and was saddened that I never had the opportunity to meet him.

Today was the first mission I've been on where I really got a chance to talk to the family members afterward. The thanks and hugs from Nichole and Capt. DiCenzo's mother were stunning in their sincerity and warmth. It reinforced to me how important our mission is and what an impact it has on the families. It is most certainly not about us but it was wonderful to hear from them what a difference we make, to know that our small efforts mean so much. It's one thing to read the letters posted here from family members, it's another to have them look into your eyes and speak their feelings to you.

I also greatly appreciated the words of thanks from the Plymouth PD and the assembled military. Most of us took the time to speak with the honor guard and others as we left the school, to thank them for their service and to let them know we honor them as well. Every time I do this I hope to myself that "Thank You" isn't something they hear once in a while, but something they hear every day.

Thank you my PGR brothers and sisters, for allowing me to stand with you again today. Like always riding with you helps restore my faith in humanity.

3 of 7 home safe I guess i can join the wet butt club now

Today it was evident that capt. dicenzo was a brave, courageous man who touched the lives of everyone around him...he was the kind of person that i look up to and admire because it takes a strong willed person to accomplish the things he had accomplished. anyone willing to fight for this country ranks high in my book but capt. dicenzo went beyond that mark , by seeing everyone, especially the little one, i could tell he always went that extra mile for everyone, even if it was someone he barely knew. your family has inspired me and i know your son will inherit the great trades his father had may god bless you all

i have to admit this mission was defenitely the hardest, it is one thing to see a mom and dad mourn the loss of a son, but to see a wife and a beautiful young baby, and know that her husband and his daddy is not coming home, makes me appreciate the little things in my life that i take for granted, from now on everytime i tell my son and daughter i love them i will think of Capt. Dicenzo's wife and child and will definetely say a prayer for them.  God Bless you Mrs.Dicenzo and your son.
