30 March is officially "NH Gold Star Mothers Day", and there are 2 events to honor them. Please try to attend both events if possible.
GOLD STAR MOTHERS MEMORIAL GROUND BREAKING CEREMONY - 0945, Manchester
There will be a groundbreaking ceremony at the end of the month for the NH Gold Star Mothers Memorial at Stanton Plaza (Manchester) on Sunday, 30March08, Rain or Shine. Everyone is invited, all are welcome and encouraged to attend. If the weather is good, bikes are requested, and if possible fly the large flags (bikes to meet at Naults Honda). If weather is not good enough, please attend and proudly wear your vests.
Timeline as follows: 0900-0945 -- Open Reception (at the Radisson - all invited) 1000-1100 -- Ground Breaking Ceremony (Stanton Park, in front of Radisson / Veterans Park) Ceremony will include an escort/entry of Gold Star Mothers; Gov Lynch and Mayor Guinta will speak, and the official "ground-breaking" (6 shovels). Also in attendance will be several NH Gold Star mothers, and status sculptor Andrew Chernak (a Vietnam Veteran, Infantry, 2 Purple Hearts).
Please pass the word to all! And if you have any personal contact with one of NH Gold Star mothers (or anyone who is a Gold Star family member), please extend a personal invitation to be an honored guest of this event.
After the conclusion of this event, there will be a motorcycle escort for the Gold Star Mothers who wish it to the next event.
Also, Motorcycles of Manchester (MOM's) has graciously offered free hot-dogs after the event for all those wishing to stop by for a visit (that is everyone - including non-riders)!
MOTORCYCLE INFO --
STAGING POINT -- Naults Honda in Manchester (right off I-293 exit 4) STAGING TIME -- 0830-0900 BREIF -- 0915, ready to depart after brief
Will do a drive by Stanton Park, loop behind Veterans Park and then parking on Central St
GOLD STAR MOTHERS NH CHAPTER FORMATION -- 1130, Manchester Armory
There is also another event later in the day honoring Gold Star mothers of NH as they officially form their own NH Chapter (at Manchester Armory at 1200). There is plenty of time to attend both this event and then the event at the Armory. Would be a beautiful thing to roll into both events with bikes and flags!! Lets hope for great weather!!!
There will be a motorcycle escort from the Radisson for the Gold Star Mothers who wish it to this event. Motorcycle riders wishing to do both events need to contact the Event Ride Capts while at Naults and inform them for proper positioning.
Hope to see all of you there!
