On September 6th, 2008 the Bushmaster Riders of the 1-158 Infantry Battalion, AZ Army National Guard, will once again honor one of our fallen. PFC Mykel Miller (Age 19) was killed in action in the Zabul Province, Afghanistan during Operation Enduring Freedom on 06 September, 2007. The PGR attended his funeral in Sept 2007.

At approximately 10:00 on 6 Sept, there will be a Memorial and wreath laying ceremony at the Veterans National Memorial Cemetery.

In support of this Memorial, the PGR will conduct a Flag line at the cemetery for Mykel's fellow Bushmasters to ride through as they arrive at the grave site. Afterwards, all are invited to ride with the Bushmasters to Bartlett Lake.
Mykel was a proud member of the 158th Infantry Regiment and served with honor. He will be always remembered as one of the many Bushmasters throughout history that were called to duty and gave the supreme sacrifice to secure our freedoms. He will always be remembered. We intend to stand tall and honor Mykel Miller and all the Bushmaster for their efforts and sacrifices.  Until later; as the Bushmasters would say “Cuidado” (Take Care). http://bushmaster.vibobgen.com/history.htm

Ride Captain for this mission will be Tom Atnip

Our sincere condolences to the family and friends of PFC Mykel F. Miller. May God help you though this difficult time and sorrow. Know your loved one was and is a Hero to us all. Our thoughts and prayers are with you always. He will never be forgotten.

Rest Safely and Securely in God's Loving Arms, Mykel.

Going home, going home,
I'm just going home.
Quiet-like, slip away-
I'll be going home.
It's not far, just close by;
Jesus is the Door;
Work all done, laid aside,
Fear and grief no more.
Friends are there, waiting now.
He is waiting, too.
See His smile! See His hand!
He will lead me through.

Morning Star lights the way;
Restless dream all done;
Shadows gone, break of day,
Life has just begun.
Every tear wiped away,
Pain and sickness gone;
Wide awake there with Him!
Peace goes on and on!
Going home, going home,
I'll be going home.
See the Light! See the Sun!
I'm just going home.
