We have been asked to provide a flag line and attend the Memorial for Kory Wiens and his dog Cooper at Kory's Mom's house. Her husband will
be giving a speech and there will be various activities that we are invited to stay for. July 7th is the one year anniversary of Kory's death and I am sure many of you remember the mission from last year. I have never seen so many K-9 units in one place in my life and it made me feel so proud to be part of it. This year we have another opportunity to show Kory's mom, friends and family that he will never be forgotten. I know there are many missions throughout the state this Monday but if you are close by, please be a part of this special event.

A very special person who gave his all for us and our nation calls us to gather again in his honor. It is indeed a call that will resound in our hearts time and again as we pause to say "Thank you for defending our liberties" as we go about our daily lives. Thank you, to the family that instilled in this hero such a great sense of honor.

God bless you and go before you.

I didn't see the ride report posted so Mike, I hope you don't mind that I post it now. Mike 'Oreo'/'Strykerdad' wrote this ride report.

Mission Complete.

We had a decent turnout for today's mission and as it turned out it was just the right size for the venue. Very intimate gathering of family and friends with a special thank you to the PGR for attending. Kory's mom was so happy to see us there standing in support for her son.

We all were at the staging area in plenty of time and to my surprise, Speed showed up on his wing with flags flying from Newport OR. He should be getting home right about now. We proceeded to the memorial with all right turns on the main streets with the last two turns into the area. Parking was perfect and we all prepared for the flag line to welcome those in attendance. Once the ceremony started we all proceeded into the backyard and lined the side walls with flags. (Yes, I did sing karaoke for the first time in my life) After a few songs, the PGR stood down and we said our good byes to let the family proceed with their activities. Many hugs and handshakes were had by all and we quietly exited the area.

Many thanks to all in attendance and a special thanks to FloorGuy for his moral support. Since this was my first lead position as a Ride Capt. for a memorial, I was a bit nervous but all went well and for that I am grateful to everyone. Thanks again Rick for the gently pushes along the way. See you all on the road.

Take care and ride safe,
Mike Oreo aka StrykerDad

Thank you Mike and Bill. This was a very special mission and I felt confident that you would do a great job.
