The Three Servicemen Statue dedication in Apalachicola has been scheduled for July 12, 2008.  The ceremony is scheduled to begin at 10:30 am Eastern time (09:30 Central Time).  Many motorcycle groups will be involved in this dedication including The Vietnam Vets/Legacy Vets MC, The American Legion Riders, AMVETS and the PGR. The creation of this monument has been in the works since 2002, and there will undoubtedly be a lot of attendees from different areas at this dedication ceremony.

Mike Kirchoff from The Legion Riders will be organizing our ride from the AMVETS Post 2298 in Callaway to Apalachicola. Upon arrival, we will be directed where to stop to un-furl our bike mounted flags (bring 'em if you got 'em) and then be directed by Rod Hog (Rodney Herring) as to our parking arrangements.

Once parked, the PGR will then organize and implement a flag line around the ceremony; any riders wishing to join our flag line will be welcome.  No matter which group you ride with, we will all unite with the common goal to honor our Vietnam Veterans and all Veterans in general.

We are honored that the PGR has been asked to participate in this historic dedication, and look forward to standing in honor with our American Flags!  The PGR will be staging with other rider groups at the AMVETS Post, and we will have a quick mini-briefing right before Mike briefs us for the ride down to Apalachicola.  Let's show up in force and show our heroes the honor they deserve

Four Hundred Thousand Strong
Terry Longpre
Memorial Day 2008

We came from all across the nation,
And we rode our bikes to the Wall,
We came from towns both large and small,
We came to honor those that given their all.

Those names on the black granite are friends and relatives,
The little boy down the street is on Wall,
They may husbands, wives or children,
Their names are here for us, one and all.

We might ride a Honda, BMW or Harley,
Those that we came to see don’t mind,
Can you hear the voices talking to you?
They speak so low and kind.

Where are our POW’s and MIA’s?
Should they be on the Wall?
You know your not forgotten,
Your loved by one and all.

We gathered here from all points across the country,
When we started our bikes and headed to the Wall,
It would make a sane person wonder,
It sounded like “Rolling Thunder”.

Why are all these people here?
We’re here to honor those on the Wall,
We came in large numbers to show our respect,
They are the ones that gave their lives, after all.

We came from the Army and the Marines,
We came from the Air Force, Navy,
Coast Guard and the Merchant Marines.

There were thousands of American and POW/MIA flags on bikes,
Many with service and unit flags too,
They were on two wheelers, trucks and trikes.

We are here for our brothers and sisters,
We are here to thank those that went before us,
We are not here to discuss if “it” was right or wrong,
Together, here to stand, four hundred thousand strong.

The Panhandle of Florida has a very high number of military installations, military retirees and caring patriotic citizens. We are very fortunate to be the permanent home of The Wall South in Pensacola and now the Three Servicemen Statue in Historic Apalachicola. If you get to the Panhandle we have alot more than the Worlds Most Beautiful Beaches. Stay and visit a while. I look forward to this dedication ceremony.

What a wonderful tribute to Viet Nam our Heroes. God Bless our heroes and all that attend this memorial.

We will be there in spirit.

Only two defining forces have ever offered to die for you: 1. Jesus Christ. 2. The American G.I. One died for your soul, the other for your Freedom.
