We will proceed to Rising Sun, IN with Law Enforcement Support. I look forward to seeing everyone that can make this ride. Rising Sun is a wonderful town and I thank them for inviting us to escort the Travailing Tribute Wall to the Tri- State Area. Also there will be a 9/11 Memorial as well.
We will be riding with Indian and Kentucky PGR Riders as well. I remember what a great feeling I had when we left Rising Sun when we escorted the Veterans Tower there.

I'm looking forward to meeting up with a great group of riders for the escort to Rising Sun. We had a nice turnout for the Veterans Tribute Tower escort back in late March and the PGR, as usual, was there in full force and showed tremendous support. The escort from Batesville should arrive at noon in Lawrenceburg and we'll roll out for Rising Sun at 1:00 P.M. and I told them we would arrive in town around 1:20 P.M. If you can't leave early that morning for the trip to Batesville then we'd love to have you come to the fairgrounds at noon and make the trip to Rising Sun with us and our police escort. I've contacted the Mayor in Lawrenceburg and the restrooms will be available at the Dearborn Co. Fairgrounds. When we arrive in Rising Sun we'll be going downtown to the American Legion Post 59 where lunch will be provided by Mayor Bill Marksberry. Bill is a real supporter of OUR VETERANS and loves to have the PGR come to town and show their RESPECT for VETERANS and is looking forward to seeing you again. Rising Sun may be small but it has a big heart when it comes to OUR VETERANS !! This is small town America at its best !! There is a supplement in the papers in Southeastern Indiana that has the stories, pictures etc. of those who made the ultimate sacrifice in Vietnam so be sure to pick one up. This tells who from Dearborn, Ohio, Switzerland, Ripley and Franklin Counties died in the service of OUR nation. It will make a nice memorial and keepsake about these brave warrriors. We're really lucky to have a young lady who works for the Dearborn Co. Register and she initiated this project back in 2002. Her name is Denise Freitag Burdette and she has been honored for her dedication to VETERANS. Be sure to invite your rider friends to come along as we escort this tribute WALL to Rising Sun and if it's your first ride into Rising Sun then be sure to go to the riverfront and see our VETERANS TRIBUTE TOWER that was dedicated on April 5, 2008, thanks to the support of the PGR. Bob Woods, Steve Verrigni, Tim Kieffer and Richard Wilbur have been very supportive of our Rising Sun projects and we're very appreciative for their dedication and efforts. We're looking forward to seeing you in Rising Sun !! We'll be paying our respects to these 58,260 brave souls who are on the WALL starting Thursday, July 10 until Sunday, July13. There will also be a big car show in Rising Sun on Sunday, July 13. Ride safely !!!!

It was an honor to ride with my Tri-State brothers and sisters for the Veterans Tribute Tower escort and dedication. I also had the great honor of meeting Medal of Honor winner SGT Sammy Davis that Saturday. I look forward to participating in this escort as well and will do my best to be there.
Ride Safely!

I will plan to be on this mission. I was with the Memorial Tower escort to Rising Sun and they sure did give us a nice welcome on that one. The weather will be a bit warmer this time. Maybe I can get a few more to join me. Roy Heron |
