"Eternal Father, Lord of hosts, watch o'er the [ones] who guard our coasts. Protect them from the raging seas, and give them light and life and peace. Grant them from Thy great throne above, the shield and shelter of Thy love ..." from the Coast Guard Hymn.

"Semper Paratus - Always Ready" was your motto, I thank you for that. Thank you Sir for your Honor and Courage, you are a True Hero. It takes someone very special to stand watch over this great country of ours and you stood your watch with pride. It's time to pass on the shield, your watch is over, well done, we'll take it from here.

To the family and friends of Seaman Frank W. Bradley, I offer my deepest sympathies. May the Lord Bless and keep you, and give you peace.

"... I feel how weak and fruitless must be any words of mine which should attempt to beguile you from the grief of a loss so overwhelming. But I cannot refrain from tendering to you the consolation that may be found in the thanks of the Republic they died to save.

I pray that our Heavenly Father may assuage the anguish of your bereavement, and leave you only the cherished memory of the loved and lost, and the solemn pride that must be yours to have laid so costly a sacrifice upon the alter of Freedom."

Yours, Very Sincerely and Respectfully,
