SEND OFF/ESCORT THOMAS BENJAMIN NORRIS
SCRANTON PA 28JUL08 0900
We have the opportunity to show our respect and appreciation to a young man who is going to be inducted into the Army Reserve on Monday 28 July 08. We have been asked by family to help escort this patriot and his recruiter to the induction center. Thomas does not know what has been planned for him by his uncle and just thinks he and immediate family are meeting the recruiter. Now is the time to show everyone that all of the people who step up and volunteer to serve this country are heroes and deserve the utmost honor and respect. Although Thomas is going into a reserve unit, he is well aware of the possibility of activation and deployment at anytime and to anyplace. He wants to do this because he feels it is the correct thing to do. For the PGR, it is now our turn to do the correct and right thing in honoring this young man for his dedication, desire, and determination to help maintain our freedom.
PRELIMINARY ITENERARY
Staging/Meet & Greet Monday 28JUL08 0900
First Liberty Bank
RT 29 & RT 309
Bowman Creek PA (approx 16 miles northwest on Wilkes Barre on Rt 309)
RIDE BRIEFING 0945
KSU AT 1000 ( Approximately )
The escort will be a combined escort/ride of approximately 35 miles through the countryside ending at the induction center in Scranton taking approximately 1 hour. American Legion and other riders have been invited by the family to participate with us. Flag your bikes with 3 X 5 flags. The route has been chosen to be bike and flag friendly with maximum speeds of 40 MPH for safety. Once at the induction center a flag line may be set, but that has not been determined yet. Mission should end at approximately 1200.
Please watch this thread as some of the minor details are changing and are still flexible. Watch the weather as this period looks to be a bit unsettled as yet.
