WELCOME HOME MISSION
Friday 16 MAY 08
The PGR has been invited to participate in the return of the 118th Maintenance Company from their Deployment to Iraq.
The Bn. Commander, Colonel Peake is a personal friend and fellow rider, who will join us on our escort from the airport to the receiving area. Local Law Enforcement Personnel have been notified of our presence and participation within the escort.
Expect heavy civilian bystander participation and news coverage along the route, as the city of Manteca has fully embraced this welcome home!
Stage Point: Finley’s Grill, 10477 S Airport Way Manteca, CA 95336. (209) 983-9493
Stage Time: 0815
KSU: 0845
Ride Captain: Chief Mechling
Mission Details: Expect warm weather in the mid 90’s. Carry water and dress accordingly. LEO are fully aware of our direct involvement. Col Peake is a friend and I have worked with her in the past so expect a well run escort, she is a top notch organizer! Additionally volunteers to assist in the next day’s banquet (yes, we’ll eat too!) are needed - details at the mission.
Support cages are welcome and I will allow the first two to accompany our riders as safety dictates. Coffee and breakfast at the stage point is in the works.. The owner is a former Marine and close friend so expect a righteous hook up at our meeting point. The airport is less than a mile from our staging area.
Respectfully Submitted,
Charlie “Chief” Mechling
PGR Asst State Captain, Central CA.

WELCOME HOME MISSION
Hey All,
This escort to welcome home the 118th Maintenance Bn will take us through the center of Manteca, CA. Expect parade conditions and summer weather in the mid to high nineties. Support cages are encouraged to bring water. As mission safety dictates, I will allow up to two vehicles within the procession. The town will reportedly allow school children to be present to line the streets and the many businesses along the route are good to go in support. Good feelings will abound here!
Our order of march will be directly in trace of the buses carrying our returning Soldiers. LEO’s will provide ALL road guard and flanking functions throughout the nine mile escort. We will end up at the First Assembly of God Church at 486 Button Ave Manteca, CA. Colonel Peake will be riding with us.
Additionally, volunteers are needed to assist in food prep and serving (yes.. We will eat too!) on Sat, 17 May 2008 @ 1400. Details at the briefing.
I am working with Finley’s (stage point) to provide coffee and breakfast for all riders. The owner’s are true Patriots and have supported the PGR in the past. Expect many, many flags to adorn the location - you won’t miss it!
Please be prompt and present for the mission briefing, new riders are encouraged to identify yourselves to the Ride Captain during the mission briefing.
