Welcome Home Mission: Captain John Tucker, USAF Saturday May 17th 2008 Eglin, Fla
Ride Captain: Crysta Baker ASC and Josh Baker RC
Background: Captain John Tucker graduated from FSU where he was in AFROTC. He has been serving in the Air Force since 1998. He is returning from a 6 month tour in Afghanistan. Captain Tucker is married to Jennifer Tucker, my sister. They have 2 beautiful little girls 2 (Ashley) and 4 (Lily).
Official plans: Captain Jhon Tucker is landing on Saturday at the Okaloosa-Walton Airport on SR-85 just outside of Eglin AFB.
All bikes have been cleared by airport security to park beginning at 3:00 PM in the cell phone waiting area.
Staging plans: We will meet directly at the airport no later than 3:15 so we can make sure we are set up in case his flight comes in early.
A flag lined will be formed where passengers exit the secure area of the airport. Immediate family will be cleared to go through security and meet him at the gate as he comes off the plane. They will escort him to the baggage area from there.
Once he comes through the flag line, feel free to relax, chat with friends or the family (they are my family, and they are looking forward to having us there). Once he gets his luggage, we will mount up.
For those coming from Tallahassee, it is recommended that you use Hwy 20 all the way into Niceville. Take 20 to the point it makes a big turn to the left in Niceville. Immediately after that big left curve you will see a light, that is Sr-85 that takes you right to the airport.
Please bring your 3x5 flags.

Mission Accomplished! It was a beautiful day for a ride. We had natural air conditioning all day. The flight actually arrived early. We were already in the terminal and standing by. Everyone in the Airport joined in the applause to welcome Captain Tucker Home. We escorted the Captain and his family home to Bluewater Bay. The family invited us to hang around but we respectfully declined and went our separate ways. We had a good representation from across the Panhandle-Crestview, Tallahassee, Chipley, Panama City, Ft. Walton Beach, and Niceville. Thanks to these Patriots who took the time to honor and welcome home one of our Heroes. |
