13 May 2008 6:46 PM Alert
The Patriot Guard Riders has been asked to conduct a HOTH, Help on the Homefront, mission on Memorial Day, May 26th, by providing assistance and motorcycle escort for memorial services at Black Hills National Cemetery.

We have been asked to assist the Ft Meade VA Hospital at Sturgis with their Memorial Day services on May 26th.  We will be assisting to get veterans onto the hospital vans, then provide flagged motorcycle escort to the Black Hills National Cemetery for memorial services, then back to the hospital.  This will be for two services, so we will be assisting with both trips from the hospital to the cemetery.

Staging:  We will stage in the parking lot on the west side of the Rapid City Civic Center at 7:00 a.m.  We will go kickstands up at 7:15 for the ride to Sturgis.  Riders coming from the northern Hills can meet us at the Phil-Town gas station at exit 32 at Sturgis.  We will then depart from Phil-Town at 8:05 to arrive at Ft Meade at 8:15.

We have been invited to join the veterans for lunch at a cost of $5.00 per person.  Please email if you plan to eat with them so they will have our lunches prepared.

Ride Captain for this mission is Ed Kruse.  Please email Ed at akek97718@msn.com if you can make the mission, and to advise if you will be eating lunch at the hospital.

On this same day, we will be honoring our lost Heroes with a Moment of Silence Stand.  Please watch for emails on this subject in the next few days.

On behalf of a grateful nation, we honor and thank these heroes. They will never be forgotten.
God Bless our heroes and all that attend this event.

Only two defining forces have ever offered to die for you: 1. Jesus Christ. 2. The American G.I. One died for your soul, the other for your Freedom.

What an honor it would be to support these missions. Wish I was close enough to participate. These heros deserve to be escorted, and to honor the fallen vets. Best of luck on this mission from Arizona
