Deployment Farewell Ceremony / Patchogue,NY / Saturday 05-31-08

The 3-142nd AHB (Assault Helicopter Battalion) from Long Island will have their Deployment Farewell Ceremonies at the St. Joseph College in Patchogue on Saturday, May 31st. Major Lee Ohrnstein, the Battalion Executive Officer would love the PGR to attend and honor them before they deploy. The official ceremony will be from 10:00 a.m. to Noon with a family picnic (same location) immediately following that we are also invited to attend. Some local area school children will provide their own special tribute to the troops and the Army will land an Apache helicopter on the ball field in front of the gymnasium for the day. They are expecting around 700 people in attendance. The soldiers will arrive with their families (no bus involved) for this indoor ceremony. We will have a flag line in place for their arrival and then proceed inside just before the ceremony starts to form a flag line in the gym.

Hello Patriot Guard Riders
I wanted to take a minute to thank each & everyone of you for coming to the ceremony at St. Joes
it was truly a great comfort. I knew about your organization prior BUT imagine how excited I was when I saw you all lined up with the flags as the families walked in.
I had to explain to many of my friends WHO you guys are ,what you do & how wonderful you all are
