The Patriot Guard Riders have been asked to attend and participate in the Welcome Home for Marine Corporal Michael Eklund on Saturday, Nov 22. The Corporal is returning from his deployment to Iraq and will driving home from Camp Pendleton with his family. We will join him at the Altamont Pass and escort them to their home.
We will stage at the Quick Stop 951 N. Vasco Rd, Livermore, Ca at 3:00 PM (1500) and KSU to the pickup point on demand.

After forming the convoy, we will provide a motorcycle escort to his destination in Pleasanton, Ca.
Please monitor your emails for any last minute changes (ie cancellation or major time change).

MISSION COMPLETE!!!! Well,what a turnout ,the weather was very warm this afternoon.By 1400 hrs it was almost 70 degrees..At 1500 hrs. we were 24 bikes strong,we had briefing as usual,then got a text message from connie(family friend) that Peggy(mom) was at Los Banos.At 1630 hrs. we headed over to our 2nd stageing area by the freeway.The actual signal was to Flash the headlights as soon as they got to Vasco Rd. exit.Well,a Car came by flashing its head lights,fooled Panak and I,so offwe went,chase bike took off,tailgunner blocked the on ramp.22 bikes are now headed after the "CAR".got on the freeway,no car. Well now ,we cruise down the freeway about a mile.pulled over,made a call ,they were behind us. Was the wrong car.OOPPSS,Snafu, So We went down one more exit ,because the side of the Freeway was wider. Well,Our Local CHP Pulled in behind us and instructed us,we could not wait there,to meet the family off the freeway. Which we did,Escort On.LOLWe got to the Lodge,Great turnout,FD,SAM,Wounded Warrior Program,PMF,VFW,AL, Marine League,Crossroads,Livermore HOG,Mt. Diablo HOG, thanks to all. Some of the Riders headed down to S.J to meet cory.,job well done. |

WELCOME HOME, MARINE!!! I am ever so grateful for your service and your devotion to our nation. {{HUGS}} to you!
I was visiting friends in Livermore this weekend and knew it was the PGR when I saw a bunch of bikes with flags flying getting on the 580 last night. I'm SO glad to learn that it was a Welcome Home Mission...not one, but two! Can't ask for a better day than that! |
