21 Jul 2008 8:54 PM Alert

We have been invited by Gary Dosh's wife Kathi to honor her husband at his funeral.  Gary is an Army Veteran with over 20 yrs in the reserves after he did his active duty during Vietnam.  Let us honor him as the American Hero he is. Gary's obituary follows staging info.  I need 7 more experienced riders for the escort of the hearse to the Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery.  Flags will not be flown on this escort and no passengers are allowed.

This is a 2 part mission.  I will be there by 5:00 pm Wednesday but am unable to attend on Thursday.  Jim Parent is RCIC for both days.

Wednesday, 23 July 08
Visitation for Gary Dosh:  5 - 7 PM  Brenny Funeral Chapel, 7348 Excelsior Rd, Baxter, MN 56425 218-828-5051 (Turn left at the Holday gas station across from Mills Fleet Farm on Hwy 371, go about a block, chapel is on right).
Staging:
3:45 PM ~ Mills Fleet Farm on Hwy 371, Baxter, MN
4:00 PM ~ Leave for short ride to Funeral Chapel
4:10 PM ~ Set Flagline
7:10 PM ~ Flagline dismissed
Post-mission ~ Pancho's and Lefty's Mexican Restaurant (west side of Hwy 371, 2 blocks from chapel, in front of Gander Mountain and Cub foods)

Thursday, 24 July 08
Funeral is at 1:00 PM at Brenny Funeral Chapel (see directions above)
Staging:
1045 ~ Mill's Fleet Farm, Hwy 371, Baxter, MN
1100 ~ Briefing
1105 ~ Short ride to Chapel
1115 ~ Set flagline

Gary's family will be at the church early because there is visitation one hour before the funeral.

1315 ~ Flagline can step down.  Those that are not on the escort can head down to the Canteen outside the front gates of Camp Ripley.  Those on the escort will stand down until about 10 minutes before the funeral is over.  Christie from the funeral home will be filling Jim in on the times.

The escort will stand the watch at the door (bikes will be in front of the hearse) as the family and friends leave the Chapel.  When Gary is in the hearse and the family is ready to leave, the escort will will stand down from flagline and lead the hearse out to the cemetery.

I spoke with David Swantek a few minutes ago, he said the committal service is at 2:30.  The flagline will head over from the Canteen and set the flagline at 2:15 PM.  This seems to be a really tight time line and I am assuming the funeral is going to be less than an hour long.

Thank you for all you do....I pray you will bless this family and help them through this tragedy with an awesome flagline and your committed patriotism.

Again:  I need seven more for the escort.....

Rest in Peace Gary....your mission is over and we have the watch. Kathi shared with me tonight that her and the kids think Gary is a hero too and how proud they are of him. She said thank you to all of us. I explained no thanks are needed, he is our hero too. I pray for the peace and comfort for this family that only Jesus can bring. It is an honor to stand for you Gary and I thank you for your service to this great nation.

God bless you and those that serve and have served this great nation ~ Freedom Isn't Free

Our sincere condolences to the family and friends of Gary Eugene Dosh, Army, Viet Nam Veteran. May God help you though this difficult time and sorrow. He is one of America's Heroes that will never be forgotten.

Rest Safely and Securely in God's Loving Arms, Gary.

Going home, going home,
I'm just going home.
Quiet-like, slip away-
I'll be going home.
It's not far, just close by;
Jesus is the Door;
Work all done, laid aside,
Fear and grief no more.
Friends are there, waiting now.
He is waiting, too.
See His smile! See His hand!
He will lead me through.

Morning Star lights the way;
Restless dream all done;
Shadows gone, break of day,
Life has just begun.
Every tear wiped away,
Pain and sickness gone;
Wide awake there with Him!
Peace goes on and on!
Going home, going home,
I'll be going home.
See the Light! See the Sun!
I'm just going home.
