This is the final itinerary for the Patriot Guard Riders mission to honor Robert Lynch, 73, U.S. Navy Korea and Viet Nam-era Veteran, Palestine, Texas. Mr. Lynch passed away Friday, July 18th. His family has requested that the Patriot Guard Riders be present at his services. The mission is a 'go' and all contacts have been made.
Services: 10:00 am, Wednesday, July 23rd at the Herrington/Land of Memory Funeral Home, 3434 S. Loop 256, Palestine, Texas 75801 (903-731-4444), with Chaplain William Snidow officiating. Interment following at Land of Memory Cemetery, Hwy 287, Palestine.
Ride Captain: Jim Ray yarjj@aol.com (cell: 903-780-1174) Weather Report: Partly Cloudy and 88 degrees. Please stay hydrated. Bring your water and sports drinks, and come prepared for HOT weather.
ALL GROUPS, CLUBS, INDEPENDENTS, ETC. ARE WELCOME to join the flag line. The only prerequisite is RESPECT. Also remember, you do not have to ride a motorcycle to participate. The flag line is open to all who wish to show their respect.
Staging Site and Time: 8:00 to 9:00 am at Brookshire's Grocery (near the gas island), 2107 S. Loop 256, Palestine, Texas 75801 (903-729-0626). All new members are requested to sign a PGR Release of Liability prior to the riders' safety meeting, which will commence at 8:45 am. At 9:00 the group will ride 1.5 miles to the funeral home, and will set up the flag line by 9:15 am. After the service begins, the group will move to the cemetery to set the flags up there.
Note from Ride Captain: The staging area is several doors down from Herschel's Restaurant, where we staged for the mission last Saturday in Palestine. Ride Captain Jim Ray and Jesse Carrington (Flag Captain), will be at Herschel's for breakfast at 7:30 am, if anyone wishes to join them. Afterwards they will go to the funeral home and set up some of the flags prior to the staging at Brookshire's. Map link: Staging area to Funeral Home: http://tinyurl.com/62jyht
Please ride safely and defensively, and remember to remain hydrated. Stand tall and silent as you honor this fallen veteran and his family. Thank you for your participation. Doug Smith (Streaker) Deputy State Captain, East Texas Area Palestine, Texas USA

Our sincere condolences to the family and friends of Robert Lynch, Navy, Korean & Viet Nam War Veteran. May God help you though this difficult time and sorrow. He is
one of America's Heroes that will never be forgotten.
Rest Safely and Securely in God's Loving Arms, Robert.
Going home, going home,
I'm just going home.
Quiet-like, slip away-
I'll be going home.
It's not far, just close by;
Jesus is the Door;
Work all done, laid aside,
Fear and grief no more.
Friends are there, waiting now.
He is waiting, too.
See His smile! See His hand!
He will lead me through.
Morning
Star lights the way;
Restless dream all done;
Shadows gone, break of day,
Life has just begun.
Every tear wiped away,
Pain and sickness gone;
Wide awake there with Him!
Peace goes on and on!
Going home, going home,
I'll be going home.
See the Light! See the Sun!
I'm just going home.

Final Inspection
The soldier stood and faced God, Which must always come to pass. He hoped his shoes were shining. Just as brightly as his brass. "Step forward now,soldier. How shall I deal with you? Have you always turned the other cheek? To My Church have you been true?" The soldier squared his shoulders and said, "No, Lord, I guess I ain't. Because those of us who carry guns, Can't always be a saint. I've had to work most Sundays, And at times my talk was tough. And sometimes I've been violent, Because the world is awfully rough. But, I never took a penny, That wasn't mine to keep.... Though I worked a lot of overtime. When the bills just got too steep. And I never passed a cry for help, Though at times I shook with fear. And sometimes, God, forgive me, I've wept unmanly tears. I know I don't deserve a place, Among the people here. They never wanted me around, Except to calm their fears. If you've a place for me here, Lord. It needn't be so grand. I never expected or had too much, But if you don’t, I’ll understand. There was a silence all around the throne, Where the saints had often trod. As the soldier waited quietly, For the judgment of his God. "Step forward now,soldier you’ve borne your burdens well. Walk peacefully on Heaven’s streets; you’ve done your time in Hell."
