252nd MP Deployment Ceremony at Ft Leonard Wood, Mo.

Date: July 21, 2008

Staging area: Price Cutters parking lot, Hwy H, Waynesville, Mo.

Time: 0645 with KSU at 0730 to west gate.

 We will form a flag line at entrance and them move inside along the wall at 0900. Following ceremony we will stand a flag line outside.

 

Ride Capt for this is Joe Smith, 573-433-4904 (Joe has flags)

Thank you so much, my PGR brothers and sisters for being there as my husband and I could not attend. Our daughter, Kyrie, is among these soldiers leaving later this week. She said it meant so much to her to see you all there and to shake your hands. I pray for each of their safe and swift return to our beloved land of the free. I am so proud of her and so scared at the same time. Each Guardian Angel, stand ready!

Mission completed.

We staged between 06:45 and 07:25, had the briefing, then headed for the west Gate. About half way there we were met by our escort on his own bike. We were escorted and waved through the gate. We arrived at the site for the ceremony and began staking flags. We lined one side of the building and lined the path from the parking area with flags. We then stood the flag line on either side of the main enterance. When the ceremony began we moved inside. The U.S. Army thanked us for being there several times during the ceremony. It was an honor to stand for this dedicated detachment. After the ceremony we reformed the flag line as the vistors and troops left. Everything went very smoothly.
