USMC Veteran SSgt Eldon Heller,
15 May 2008 Washougal WA

Ladies and Gentlemen of the Patriot Guard Riders. We have been requested by the family of Eldon Heller to stand and honor this Veteran on May 15 , 2008. His service will be Zion Lutheran Church with internment to follow at Washougal Cemetery. SSgt Heller was one of the "Chosin Few" , he was a Staff SGT with the 5th Marine Regiment, 2BN at the Chosin Reservoir in Korea. Please join us as we pay our respect to this American Hero. Please check this thread for more details soon.

Mission Date; May 15, 2008

Staging Location; Parking lot across the street from Straub’s Funeral Home 325 NE 3rd Ave, Camas, Wa. We will be staging on the south side of 3rd Ave.

Staging time ; 11:30 AM

Ride Briefing; 11:45

Kick Stands Up; 11:55

Ride Captain; Steve Guild

*NOTE* the weather is expected to be quite warm on Thursday please come prepared and dress accordingly.

Your death brings much sorrow and sadness to the hearts and lives of your family, friends, military brothers and sisters, each and every member of the Patriot Guard Riders, and all who truly appreciate their freedom. We are proud of your service and dedication in that which you believed in and fought for. Your mission is complete. You are truly an American hero and the world in which we live is a safer place because of your commitment to freedom. We will now proudly stand for you with honor, dignity, and respect. On behalf of the Heller family and my own, our sincere thanks to the Washington PGR for turning out in tribute to my Uncle Eldon. And to all of you for your kind words. Eldon was a fine man, quick to laughter and quick to help others.
He'll be remembered as a hero to his country and family alike.

Condolences to the family and friends of USMC Korea War Veteran SSgt Eldon Heller.

'No Greater Love is this that a man is willing to lay down his life for another.' Only two men were willing to sacrifice their lives for us-Jesus Christ and the American Soldier. Neither of which can ever fully be repaid.

Thank you for your Service and my Freedoms. Your sacrifices will never go unnoticed. I am grateful to live in a country made up of volunteers like you. Your choice to protect our Nation and put your self on the line can never be repaid.
