Colorado and northern New Mexico PGR, we are ready to proceed with plans for this hero.
Services will take place at the high school gymnasium in Monte Vista, Colorado on Tuesday, May 13 at 10A.
We will begin staging for those who can make it early, at 7A in the Alco parking lot next to Jack's market. The location is on hwy 160, west side of town, south side of the street.
The first 12 riders will be directed to the Strohmeyer Funeral Home at 205 Broadway (81144)at 7:30 to arrive prior to the family and stand a flag line, then participate in the escort from there as directed.
Please advise me if you wish to volunteer for the "early shift". For the balance staged, we will have our briefing at 8A, moving to the high school (or as UG's might require) shortly after. After the start of services, an escort and small line will remain behind, while we restage at the cemetary in Homelake. I know this is a workday and far from many of our homes.
I also know that Sgt. Martinez is deserving of all special effort and honor we can provide in recognition of his sacrifice and that you'll make every effort as you are able. I'll bring flags. Bring more if you're can.
Special thanks to Jim Van Ry and our new members and freinds in the Valley for your efforts and assistance.

Final Inspection
The soldier stood and faced God, Which must always come to pass. He hoped his shoes were shining. Just as brightly as his brass. "Step forward now,soldier. How shall I deal with you? Have you always turned the other cheek? To My Church have you been true?" The soldier squared his shoulders and said, "No, Lord, I guess I ain't. Because those of us who carry guns, Can't always be a saint. I've had to work most Sundays, And at times my talk was tough. And sometimes I've been violent, Because the world is awfully rough. But, I never took a penny, That wasn't mine to keep.... Though I worked a lot of overtime. When the bills just got too steep. And I never passed a cry for help, Though at times I shook with fear. And sometimes, God, forgive me, I've wept unmanly tears. I know I don't deserve a place, Among the people here. They never wanted me around, Except to calm their fears. If you've a place for me here, Lord. It needn't be so grand. I never expected or had too much, But if you don’t, I’ll understand. There was a silence all around the throne, Where the saints had often trod. As the soldier waited quietly, For the judgment of his God. "Step forward now,soldier you’ve borne your burdens well. Walk peacefully on Heaven’s streets; you’ve done your time in Hell."

| Our heart felt condolences to the Martinez family and friends in the loss of Glen. Thank you for his service to this great country. Our prayers go out to God for you in this time of loss. Glen served to give us the freedom we now enjoy so much and for that he is one of the GREAT AMERICAN HEROS of the land. God bless your family and friends. Wish I could have shaken his hand and told him thank you myself. God tells us that “Greater love hath no man than this that a man lay down his life for his friends.” (John 15:13) As Christ our Lord laid down His life for us that believe in Him for salvation, so your love one has laid down his life for us for our freedom. This act has made him a Super Hero in my heart and I thank-you deeply for this sacrifice made for our freedoms. I pray that God will now bless your lives and help you see how great a thing this is which your loved one has done. The FALLEN MILITARY MEMBER has shown this country his greatest love for country and friends |

your son was and is a Hero to us all. Our thoughts and prayers are with
you always. He will never be forgotten.
Rest Safely and Securely in God's Loving Arms, Glen.
Going home, going home,
I'm just going home.
Quiet-like, slip away-
I'll be going home.
It's not far, just close by;
Jesus is the Door;
Work all done, laid aside,
Fear and grief no more.
Friends are there, waiting now.
He is waiting, too.
See His smile! See His hand!
He will lead me through.
Morning
Star lights the way;
Restless dream all done;
Shadows gone, break of day,
Life has just begun.
Every tear wiped away,
Pain and sickness gone;
Wide awake there with Him!
Peace goes on and on!
Going home, going home,
I'll be going home.
See the Light! See the Sun!
I'm just going home.

Our heartfelt condolences go out to the family and friends of Sgt Martinez, a TRUE AMERICAN HERO. Our freedoms have been protected by all these great people that put on the uniform and volunteer to stand up for us. Many years of shedding tears have gone by and unfortunately we will shed more. One thing for certain though, we will have today’s heroes to thank for allowing us to live in such a great nation. Too sad others can’t see the light. Our soldiers are the greatest bunch of people on this earth and as we move forward we owe a special thanks to them and their families. Without the family support it is hard to have such Great Americans. “You Will Never Be Forgotten”
