ission Summary:

 

The Patriot Guard Riders have been invited to help Welcome Home the Virginia National Guard, Delta Companies - returning to the National Guard Armory in Fredericksburg, Virginia on Thursday, 08 May 2008.

 

The plan is tentative at this time…Please check this thread for late breaking updates. .

 

The Troops arrived in country earlier this week to go through about a week of debriefing, and then return home.   They will have a Virginia State Police escort, which will be joined by Fredericksburg Police escort and the PGR Riders escort as they arrive in the area.

 

<script></script> We are planning to join the procession just off I95  at exit 133 (Rte 17 Business) tucking ourselves in behind the LEO escort and ahead of the busses - to help lead them home - with a procession though the streets of Fredericksburg to the Armory - streets hopefully lined with cheering, flag waving folks, giving them the Welcome Home they deserve!

 

At the Armory, we will park our bikes - lining the parking lot, and will form up an Flag Honor Line at the entrance, to greet the troops who will debus, form up and march to the Armory entrance.

 

We will be in cell phone contact with the convoy, so we will have warning to mount up and fire up the escort to minimize delay when the troops arrive.

 

Mission Detail Plan - 08 May 2008 (Thursday):


Staging:        1300 Exxon Gas Station just off I95 Exit 133 on Rte 17 Bus just East of I95

Briefing:        1315 hrs

 

Escort:           1330 hrs earliest departure

 

Ride Captain:  Robbie Smart 540-841-7272 cell

 

Iron Horses - preferred, cages always welcome

Mounted Large Flags - Desired for Escort

Weather: Current F/C is for high of 82 with 60% chance of Thunder showers - dress accordingly

 

 

Directions: Exxon Gas Station just off I95 Exit 133 on Rte 17 Bus just East of I95

 

    ** Arriving on I95 Northbound - Exit 133 - Rte 17 Business

            Right at the light at the end of the ramp

            Through the next light

            Immediate right into the Exxon gas station - look for bikes

    ** Arriving on I95 Southbound- Exit 133 - Rte 17 Business <script></script>

             Keep right as ramp merges onto Rte 17 Business

             Back under I95, Through 2 lights

            Immediate right into the Exxon gas station - look for bikes

    ** GPS Information:  Warrenton Road Exxon, 375 Warrenton Rd, Fredericksburg, VA 22405

Welcome Home Mission - VaNG, 116th Infantry, Fredericksburg VA, Date TBD (Late April 2008)

The Patriot Guard Riders have been invited to help welcome home the Virginia National Guard (VaNG) Troops returning to the National Guard Armory in Fredericksburg, VA.  All of the contacts have been made, and we are moving forward.

The Troops will be arriving back in the US in a few weeks, will under go equipment check-in and debriefing, and then will be returning HOME!  Exact arrival dates and times will be developed over the next several weeks, and then things will move - fast.

Current plans are to meet the buses with the returning troops somewhere in transit, join the LEO escort and surround them with iron horses and flags and to lead them to their Armory and their waiting friends, families, and comrades-in-arms.  We will set an Honor flag Line to greet them with the flags they have been so valiantly defending.
