*************************ITINERARY INFORMATION*******************

Staging time will be 0915 at the McDonald's Restaurant, 100 Market Place Mall #11, Weston, WV (http://tinyurl.com/267ukz).

We will leave for the funeral  home by 0930, ensuring we arrive in time to have our flag line established prior to commencement of visitation services at 1000.  Parking at the funeral home will be in the parking lot of the local Fire Department located across the street.

We will maintain our flag line throughout the visitation, until start of services at 1100, breaking away for a short period and returning as James is moved to the hearse for his journey to the West Virginia National Cemetery.

Although there is NO set procession to the cemetery, some members of his family and friends will be following the hearse along the route and have requested the PGR take the lead.  We will be proceeding to I-79N to the Anmore exit, turning right on U.S. Route 50 to Pruntytown, proceeding through to the WV National Cemetery which will be located on the right.

We will be proceeding up to the Pavilion, forming our flag line during graveside services.

Understanding, full well, the short notice of this mission as well its, somewhat, remote location, all who are able to participate are requested to do so.  Most all Veterans of the Vietnam conflict were not afforded the proper welcoming they earned by serving all of us.  This is OUR opportunity to give back to one such Vet.

Thank you, in advance, for your participation.
Respects,
Joe

Barry Bledsoe will be the designated Ride Captain for this Mission of Honor.

All,

Just a brief FYI, I have contacted to funeral home to coordinate services.  Since this is an extremely short notice mission, I am not going to try to setup anything for Wednesday night.  We will work on a flag line for Thursday, with escort and flag line at the cemetery. I will post info on here and on the PGR site as soon as I know anything.  I will be in Weston tomorrow, (Wednesday) evening to scout a staging area.  I will then call Joe with that info so he can post for me, as I will not be back at my computer until late.

Please come out and help show our respects and appreciation for this veteran.  The way I see it, our country absolutely did not do Vietnam veterans right when it mattered most.  Maybe we can make up just a little bit for our transgressions in this manner.

Thanks.

James, they say time heals all wounds but, in dealing with health issues remaining from a War most in this country chose to ignore, only God's mercy can grant that healing.  We thank you for your service to our country during that period and can only hope you find eternal rest.  May God grant you safe passage as you approach the Gates of Heaven.

May your family, friends and community find healing in God's comfort.  May they understand you are now in a place far better than what remains here on earth.  May they also believe you continue to watch over them from your rightful place among the Angels.

Stand at ease James.  Your tour of duty is now complete.  God Speed.

Will be proud to stand in Honor and Respect of another hero from the Vietnam Era.
Respects,
Joe

James,

May you now rest in peace with your many brothers from a war that many refused to recognize. Even with the current movement to correct that attitude, it doesn't forgive those who refused to honor the soldiers, if not the war. It doesn't matter whether you were Army, Marines, Navy or Air Force, in country or offshore, we were all brothers. We all wanted to hear the two words that are now being spoken to us forty years too late. "Welcome Home" means so much after all these years.

As the gates to Heaven open, you will hear those words once again, "Welcome Home, Soldier"

To the family of James, My deepest condolences at your loss. Take comfort in knowing he has walked through the Valley of the Shadow of Death and will now dwell in the House of the Lord forever.

Grieve his death but celebrate his life. He touched many lives here and will be remembered by those whom he touched. Take comfort in knowing that you will see him again someday when the Lord calls you to be with him.

God Bless You James and also your friends and loved ones,
