**************THIS IS NOW A CONFIRMED MISSION****************
The family of SMFC Charles Deaton has graciously accepted the Patriot Guard Riders offer to stand for their Husband and Father.
Staging location will be the large parking lot located directly BEHIND (West) the First Baptist Church, 506 Wells St., Sistersville, WV 26175. This is located less than one block from the funeral home.
Staging time will be 1115 and flag line will be established NLT 1145. We will maintain our flag line throughout the visitation (1200-1300), break away during services, then re-establish our line prior to continuing to the cemetery in Friendly, WV, a distance of approximately 5 miles.
Current weather forecast for Wednesday is for temperatures near 30 with little or no chance of precipation. Please dress/travel accordingly.
Directions to First Baptist Church: 1.) Coming South down WV Route 2, as you come down the small grade you will go over a Railroad crossing. About 150 yards beyond the crossing you will see the First Baptist Church on your right (large beige brick church). Turn RIGHT just before passing the church and the parking lot is located on your left.
2.) Coming North on WV Route 2, proceed to the only stop light in town, turning Right. After you make the right turn, you will see the church directly ahead on your left.
3.) Anyone coming in from Ohio should either cross the Ohio River at St. Mary's, WV and proceed North on Route 2 or cross at New Martinsville, WV and proceed South.
4.) Coming in on WV Route 18, turn North on WV Route 2 at Sistersville and follow directions as listed in #2.
The family has voiced some concerns about motorcycles, stating the weather might not be conducive to having members ride in. The funeral director is uncertain if that is a genuine concern or they are concerned about the bikes in general. I advised him if we had those who choose to ride in and the family does not desire to have the bikes participate in an escort, we would leave them in the parking lot and travel to the cemetery in cages.
Realizing this is a mid-week mission, all who can find the means are requested to help stand in Honor of another from our "Greatest Generation".
Thank you for your support. Respects, Joe

Thank you, Putt, for your honorable service to our nation during a most difficult time in our history. May God grant you safe and quick passage as you approach the Gates of Heaven.
Patsy, Chuck, Steve and all of Putt's family and friends...may you find healing in God's mercy at this most difficult time in your lives. May you also believe he is now in a place far better than those that remain here on earth. Understand that, although he is no longer with us, he continues to watch over you from his place among the Angels.
If invited, the Patriot Guard Riders will be proud to stand in Honor and Respect.

Our sincere condolences to the family and friends of Seaman First Class Charles "Putt" Deaton, WWII Navy, Veteran May God help you though this difficult time and sorrow. He is
one of America's Heroes that will never be forgotten.
Rest Safely and Securely in God's Loving Arms, Charles.
Going home, going home,
I'm just going home.
Quiet-like, slip away-
I'll be going home.
It's not far, just close by;
Jesus is the Door;
Work all done, laid aside,
Fear and grief no more.
Friends are there, waiting now.
He is waiting, too.
See His smile! See His hand!
He will lead me through.
Morning
Star lights the way;
Restless dream all done;
Shadows gone, break of day,
Life has just begun.
Every tear wiped away,
Pain and sickness gone;
Wide awake there with Him!
Peace goes on and on!
Going home, going home,
I'll be going home.
See the Light! See the Sun!
I'm just going home.

Updated weather forecast for the area is now calling for a 70% chance of snow showers tomorrow (Tuesday) with an inch or less accumulation. Low's tomorrow night, around 20. Wednesday is calling for a chance of flurries with a high of 28.
Any who are planning to attend, two wheels will NOT be needed. The escort can be accomplished just fine with cages. What WILL be needed, above all else, are folks willing to stand for Putt and his family. Respects, Joe |
