Updated 20 NOV 08 harly69g

This mission has been updated for Friday, 21 Nov 08. I just spoke to SPC Partridge's Mom and she just talked to him and he has just been released and will be traveling tomorrow. Final staging information and ride itineraries will be provided as they become available later this evening. The estimated time of arrival at Philadelphia International Airport is around 1445(2:45PM). Mrs. Partridge is to get back to me this evening with his flight information. Members are encouraged to check back this evening and tomorrow morning for any last minute updates.

WELCOME HOME MISSION FOR SPC Justin Partridge, NJ ANG. Philadelphia , PA to West Deptford, NJ   21 Nov 08

Our assistance has been requested to escort one of our New Jersey heroes back home. SPC Justin Partridge, NJ ANG, a Purple Heart Recipient, was wounded by an IED while in Afghanistan, and is currently at FT. Bragg, NC processing out of the Army. He is due back in New Jersey on Friday, 21 Nov 08, according to the Chief of the West Deptford Fire Department. Before deploying, Justin was a volunteer fireman in West Deptford and was one of Chief Zimm's firefighters. This will be a two state mission with the NJ PGR working with Region 6 in Pennsylvania to retrieve this service member from the Philadelphia International Airport.

I will be in touch with Frank Tacey, Region 6 SRC to arrange the mission into the airport. At this time, the Army is telling SPC Partridge's family that they will have 48 hours notice as far as flight number and time of arrival. The NJ PGR will escort the Partridge family members to the airport to pick Justin up, and then escort them back to West Deptford for his local welcome home ceremony.

NJ riders will meet at a designated staging area to be set as the travel arrangements become available. We will meet the Partridge family and then proceed to the Philadelphia area. As this is a welcome home, all riders should check back frequently as the week progresses to stay up to date on changes that may occur as we get closer to Friday.

Our debt to the Heroic men and Valiant women in the service of our country can never be repaid . They have earned our undying gratitude. America will never forget their sacrifices
(President Harry S. Truman)

During these days of many trials and tribulations that our land of the free are facing, let us remember to hold our heads up high in remembrance for those who gave thier life for our freedom and those that are still in harms way for this cause. Pray for the brokenhearted and proclaim victory for those who are held captive. Lord, You are the light of the world and we declare You to be Lord over every nation. We know your light shines in darkness and the darkness does not always comprehend, but we also know You light will always prevail. Amen.

Welcome home son, well done. Standing by

Usually at a time like this I struggle for words to comfort a friend who has suffered a loss. The right words don’t often come, but if accompanied by the right sentiment they can be soothing. But I have learned over time that the best comfort at a time like this comes from those who watch over us. My beliefs allow me to be comforted by a certainty that I am watched over by those who have gone before me.
