WWII...Wow...seems so long ago and so far from most of us. BUT...where would we be today if not for the service and dedication of men like Sgt. Pettit? We are thankful, as we should be, for our freedom, won by Sgt. Pettit and his fellow service men.

Thank you and God Bless your family at this time.

Thank you for my freedom SGT Pettit. May you rest in peace.

Our sincere condolences to the family and friends of SGT James E. Pettit, Army, WWII Veteran. May God help you though this difficult time and sorrow. He is one of America's Heroes that will NEVER be forgotten.

Rest Safely and Securely in God's Loving Arms, James.

Going home, going home,
I'm just going home.
Quiet-like, slip away-
I'll be going home.
It's not far, just close by;
Jesus is the Door;
Work all done, laid aside,
Fear and grief no more.
Friends are there, waiting now.
He is waiting, too.
See His smile! See His hand!
He will lead me through.

Morning Star lights the way;
Restless dream all done;
Shadows gone, break of day,
Life has just begun.
Every tear wiped away,
Pain and sickness gone;
Wide awake there with Him!
Peace goes on and on!
Going home, going home,
I'll be going home.
See the Light! See the Sun!
I'm just going home.

   Although it's doubtful most will remember him, myself included unfortunately, Sgt Pettit is the Great-grandfather of Sgt Ricky Williams whose services the PGR was honored to participate in a few months ago.

   According to his son-in-law, Robbie Beever, who made the request to me, Sgt Pettit observed us at those services and made it known, then, that should something happen to  him he WANTED PGR participation in his services as well.

   Please, let's make a concerted effort to fulfill James's wish to the best of our abilities.
Respects,
Joe
