Dewey Lee Sandmeyer was born April 13, 1936 on a farm in the Township of Butterfield, MN. He was the son of Leo and Lenora (Hanson) Sandmeyer. He attended country school and in 1954 graduated from St. James Hish School. On June 1, 1968, Dewey was united in marriage at Graettinger, IA to Judy Graettinger. Dewey was a member of St. James Catholic Church. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus. He served on the Park Board. He enjoyed playing horse shoes, watching westerns and the Twins on TV, having coffee with friends, going to Branson, fishing, hunting, golfing, and spending time with family, friends and grandchildren.

Our sincere condolences to the family and friends of Spc4 Dewey Sandmeyer (ret), US Army, Veteran. May God help you though this difficult time and sorrow. He is one of America's Heroes that will never be forgotten.

Rest Safely and Securely in God's Loving Arms, Dewey.

Going home, going home,
I'm just going home.
Quiet-like, slip away-
I'll be going home.
It's not far, just close by;
Jesus is the Door;
Work all done, laid aside,
Fear and grief no more.
Friends are there, waiting now.
He is waiting, too.
See His smile! See His hand!
He will lead me through.

Morning Star lights the way;
Restless dream all done;
Shadows gone, break of day,
Life has just begun.
Every tear wiped away,
Pain and sickness gone;
Wide awake there with Him!
Peace goes on and on!
Going home, going home,
I'll be going home.
See the Light! See the Sun!
I'm just going home.
