Patriot Guard Riders have been invited to stand in honor of PFC Willington M Rhoads at the visitation and memorial service. PFC Willington M Rhoades, died July 16 in Bagram, Afghanistan of natural causes. He was assigned to the 173rd Brigade Support Battalion (Airborne), Vicenza, Italy.
AIRPORT ARRIVAL: NO ESCORT

Procession to the cemetery (Edgar Cemetery, 1/2 to 3/4 mile) will be by horse drawn carriage. To avoid spooking the horse, motorcycles will probably take an alternate route to cemetery and have flag line in place for their arrival.

DoD Identifies Army Casualty
The Department of Defense announced today the death of a soldier who was supporting Operation Enduring Freedom.
Pfc. Willington M. Rhoads, 23, of Las Vegas, Nev., died July 16 in Bagram, Afghanistan, of injuries suffered from a non-combat related incident. He was assigned to the 173rd Brigade Support Battalion (Airborne), Vicenza, Italy.
The incident is under investigation.

Pfc. Willington M. Rhoads earned my respect and gratitude when he volunteered to serve our country. His efforts to make the world a safer place will be remembered with honor and appreciation by this American family.

As I get ready to write to you, the words fall away as almost meaningless because of the pain I know you feel. I know, because I have felt that pain.
Know that you are NOT alone on this difficult path. Others are there to help you: reach out and embrace them, for they are offering not only themselves, but sharing with you that little bit of the Almighty that resides in all of us. This offering/sharing is what WILL give you the strength you will need to get thru. Trust me.
Any service related death, on or off duty, whether accident or illness, wounds received or KIA, warrant the Gold Star for the family. Don't let anyone tell you different.
