The PGR has Been Invited To Join the Family Of Sgt Jeremy Vrooman On Saturday August 16th 2008 At 1400 Hrs At The Multi Cultral Center Located At 515 N. Main Sioux Falls, S.D. for a Memorial Service In Honor Of Sgt Jeremy Vrooman. 

The PGR will Stand Flag Line For This Event  

PLEASE MARK YOUR CALENDAR 

Staging Will Be At Falls Park Across The Street To The North In The Farmers Market Lot At 1230 Hrs
With Departure At 1300 Down Phillips Ave To 5th & To Main To The Cultural Center  for The 1400 Ceremony

The family has requested Patriot Guard's attendance. This mission is a go.

DoD Identifies Army Casualty

                 The Department of Defense announced today the death of a soldier who was supporting Operation Iraqi Freedom.

                Staff Sgt. Jeremy D. Vrooman, 28, of Sioux Falls, S.D., died Jul 15 in Baghdad, Iraq, of wounds suffered when an improvised explosive device detonated while his unit was conducting combat operations in Kn’an, Iraq.  He was assigned to the 2nd Squadron, 2nd Stryker Cavalry Regiment, 2nd Stryker Brigade Combat Team, 1st Armored Division, Vilseck, Germany.

As I get ready to write to you, the words fall away as almost meaningless because of the pain I know you feel. I know, because I have felt that pain.

Know that you are NOT alone on this difficult path. Others are there to help you: reach out and embrace them, for they are offering not only themselves, but sharing with you that little bit of the Almighty that resides in all of us. This offering/sharing is what WILL give you the strength you will need to get thru. Trust me.

Any service related death, on or off duty, whether accident or illness, wounds received or KIA, warrant the Gold Star for the family. Don't let anyone tell you different.
