Part 3 Mission Details The PGR has been invited to participate in MSG Mitch Young's Final Ride and Celebration of Life. We will escort MSG Young from Charlie Mike's Pub to the Special Forces Association (SFA) Compound. We will stand in honor while he is being interred in the SFA Pond. Charlie Mike's Pub is located at 195 Starpoint Dr, Fayetteville, NC 28303
All participants are requested to bring a side dish for the Celebration of Life meal afterwards. 02 Aug 08

PART 2
We will escort the family from their residence to the JFK Chapel on post. Staging will be at the Food Lion located @ 6575 Fisher Rd., Fayetteville NC, 28304 @ 0800 hrs. Ride/Safety briefing 0815 hrs, KSU 0820 hrs to arrive at the residence NLT 0825 hrs, proceed to Ft. Bragg as soon as the family is ready, tenatively 0830 hrs.There will not be an LEO escort, ALL traffic laws will be obeyed. There will be no blocking of intersections.

Upon arrival at the chapel, we will form a flagline and stand in Honor of MSG Young. Everyone is aware of the weather conditions we have been experiencing, however I would like to remind everyone to drink plenty of water prior to and during this mission, it will be extremely hot and humid.
All riders must wear long pants, over the ankle boots, long sleeve shirts, and a helmet that meets DOT standards as required by North Carolina law. The lead bike and trail bike will be required to have reflective belts/vests or brightly colored shirts/jackets. We will enter and leave the military installation as a single group.
Once we break down the flagline, we will depart as a group and ride to a parking lot off post where we will then disperse.
We are entering Federal property. No weapons are allowed. The Personal Protective Equipment is required by Department of Defense, and Department of the Army. I will be vouching for the group and will be held responsible while we are on the installations.
Staging area is a grocery store parking lot, no fuel available in the immediate area, however fuel is available at major intersections prior to reaching staging area.

PART 3 Mission info Celebration of Life for MSG Mitch Young The PGR has been invited to join the Young Family in a Final Ride and Celebration of Life for MSG Mitchell Young on 02 Aug 08. We will ride as part of the Final Ride procession. We will stand an honor guard with flags while Mitch is being interred. Details are currently being worked as to staging time and location. This event will happen in Fayetteville, NC. Please let me know if you are planning to attend this, I need to get a headcount for the Young Family.

PART 1 MSG Young will be arriving at Pope AFB on Sunday, 20 July 08 between 0900 and 1000 hrs. This will be an escort mission only - there will be no flag line. We will stage at the Entry Control Point for Fort Bragg located on the All American Freeway.
As you are coming into Fort Bragg move to the far left lane. Prior to the reaching the guard stations there will be a brick building and parking lot to the far left. We will stage in this parking lot. There are no facilities available at the staging area - no rest rooms, no drinks, no fuel, etc.

We again render honors to MSG Young and his family as they are taken into the funeral home. We will then stand down. I do not know if there will be an LEO escort. If there is no LEO escort ALL traffic laws will be obeyed. There will be no blocking of intersections.

DoD Identifies Army Casualty
The Department of Defense announced today the death of a soldier who was supporting Operation Enduring Freedom.
Master Sgt. Mitchell W. Young, 39, of Jonesboro, Ga., died on July 13 of wounds suffered when his vehicle struck an improvised explosive device in Kajaki Sofla, Afghanistan. He was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 7th Special Forces Group (Airborne), Fort Bragg, N.C.

I pray that God Comfort you and Bless you in this time of terrible loss. I know in my heart that MSG Young was doing what he loved to do, and he made a huge difference in the world. As I get ready to write to you, the words fall away as almost meaningless because of the pain I know you feel. I know, because I have felt that pain.
Know that you are NOT alone on this difficult path. Others are there to help you: reach out and embrace them, for they are offering not only themselves, but sharing with you that little bit of the Almighty that resides in all of us. This offering/sharing is what WILL give you the strength you will need to get thru. Trust me.
Any service related death, on or off duty, whether accident or illness, wounds received or KIA, warrant the Gold Star for the family. Don't let anyone tell you different.

It is with a sad and heavy heart that I send my most sincere and heartfelt condolences to the family of this much accomplished and dedicated soldier who served his country with honor and distinction.
