Final itinerary for Captain Phillip Dykeman, USMC.
 
Staging will be at the American Legion Post in Central Square NY on Saturday July 5th. Doors will be open at 7am with coffee provided. The American Legion is located on Rt 49 just outside the village of Central Square.  We will hold a briefing at 8am, kickstands up at 8:10am, flag line at Watson's Funeral Home from 8:20am until 1200hours.
Watson's Funeral Home is located at 631 S. Main Street in Central Square.
 
A mass will be held at St. Mary's Parish in Cleveland NY. We will be sending members there early from the funeral home to have a flag line in place when the procession arrives.
 
Please make sure your flag is in perfect condition, standard flag line protocol is in place....no cell phones, no smoking, no joking or eating. We will make sure everyone gets a break when needed.

Ride Captain for this mission is Jerry Deon. Please email or call him if you have any questions on this mission or staging information.

Viewing:  9 AM – Noon, Watson Funeral Home, 631 S Main St, Central Square, NY 13036-9104.    Staging location will be provided at a later date. 

Services:  Mass from 1 – 2 PM.  Location will be confirmed later. 

Interment:  Following services at a local cemetery.  The location will be confirmed later.

With the change in location there will be a new ride captain and the RC will update all the locations once confirmed

DoD Identifies Marine Casualties 
            The Department of Defense announced today the deaths of three Marines who were supporting Operation Iraqi Freedom. 
         
The following Marines died June 26 while supporting combat operations in Al Anbar province, Iraq: 
 
            Lt. Col. Max A. Galeai, 42, of Pago Pago, American Samoa. 
 
            Capt. Philip J. Dykeman, 38, of Brockport, N.Y.  
 
 
            Cpl. Marcus W. Preudhomme, 23, of North Miami Beach, Fla.  
 
 
            The Marines were assigned to 2d Battalion, 3d Marines, 3rd Marine Division, Marine Corps Base Hawaii, Kaneohe Bay, Hawaii.

My deepest sympathy to the family of Capt Philip J. Dykeman.  I appreciate all of his contributions to our country and may there be a special place for him in heaven.  All gave some and some gave all.  He gave his 'all' so young. I will never forget.

I am so sorry to hear of your loss.  I lost my own son, Marine LCpl Jordan Haerter to a VBIED in Ramadi on 4/22 so I fully understand the overwhelming heartache that you are experiencing right now.  Rely on your family, friends, and community to help you through this difficult time....it makes it alot easier to deal with.  Every time I hear the news of the death of another brave soul my heart is broken all over again.  Please accept my heartfelt condolences.....
