As I get ready to write to you, the words fall away as almost meaningless because of the pain I know you feel. I know, because I have felt that pain.

Know that you are NOT alone on this difficult path. Others are there to help you: reach out and embrace them, for they are offering not only themselves, but sharing with you that little bit of the Almighty that resides in all of us. This offering/sharing is what WILL give you the strength you will need to get thru. Trust me.

Any service related death, whether accident or illness, wounds received or KIA, warrant the Gold Star for the family. Don't let anyone tell you different.

I offer you my services, such as they are. If you want to talk, feel free to get in touch with me thru the PGR messaging. I WILL return your call/message. ANYTIME!

In the meantime know that my wife's and my prayers are with you.

To the family of Sgt. Seabrooks.

I am truly sorry to hear of the tragic loss of Andrew.  I lost my own son, Marine Lance Corporal Jordan C. Haerter from Sag Harbor on April 22nd in Ramadi, Iraq to a VBIED so I can fully understand the devestating nature of Andrew's death.  Every time I read of another casualty it is as if my heart has been broken all over again.  Nobody can really ever understand the loss of a loved one in battle unless they have experienced it for themselves.  Lean on your family, community, and friends to help you through this difficult period.  The hole that has been ripped in your heart will never mend but as time goes by the wonderful memories that you have of him will overshadow the wrenching pain of his loss.  I only wish there was something that I could do to help you through this.  I will be honored to stand on the giving end of a pgr flag line along with the other members to honor the spirit and bravery  of Sgt. Seabrooks if that is what you choose.....
