I have been contacted by Mrs. Cathryn Foster and PGR has been requested to participate in the services for her husband, Larry, of Nampa, Idaho.
 
Larry Dee Foster, 64, was born 1 Jan 1944, and passed away 21 April 2008.  Larry served as a Corporal in the United States Marine Corps from 1962-1969 and in Viet Nam from 1967-1968.  He was serving as President of the local Vietnam Veterans of America (VVA) chapter at the time of his passing.  Just prior to his death, he was awarded the Order of the Silver Rose (VVA equivalent of the Purple Heart) as a result of exposure to Agent Orange.
 
This will be a two-phase mission with Phase One on Saturday, 17 May, and Phase Two on Saturday, 31 May.
 
PHASE ONE:
Services are 17 May at 1100 at the Oregon Trail Church of God (23057 Old Highway 30, Caldwell) just off of I-84, exit 25.
 
This phase of the mission will consist of a PGR escort from Karcher Mall in Nampa to the Oregon Trail Church of God in Caldwell, followed by a flagline at the church prior to services.  When services have begun, PGR will stand down.
 
STAGING INFORMATION:
Saturday, 17 May from 0845-0945 at the Karcher Mall in Nampa (1509 Caldwell Blvd, Nampa).  Ride briefing will be accomplished and waivers will be distributed and signed. 
 
Due to the proximity of Mrs. Foster's home (very near a major intersection making access and departure from her home difficult and unsafe), Mrs. Foster and family will rendevous with PGR at the Karcher Mall staging area a few minutes before 10am, and escort will depart shortly thereafter.  Directions to Karcher Mall from points east and west follow.....
 
FROM BOISE and POINTS EAST:
  • Take exit #33A/NAMPA/MARSING onto MIDLAND BLVD(ID-55) - go 0.5 mi
  • Continue to follow ID-55 - go 0.4 mi
  • Turn Left on NAMPA CALDWELL BLVD(ID-55) - go 0.3 mi
  • Arrive at 1509 CALDWELL BLVD, NAMPA, on the Right
     
     
    FROM CALDWELL and POINTS WEST:
  • Take exit #33/NAMPA/MARSING onto ID-55 - go 0.7 mi
  • Turn Left on NAMPA CALDWELL BLVD(ID-55) - go 0.3 mi
  • Arrive at 1509 CALDWELL BLVD, NAMPA, on the Right

  • NOTE: The escort will be led by Larry's good friend "Jay".

    PHASE TWO: (Details Pending)
    Hero's cremains will be scattered somewhere near Idaho City on 31 May.  Mrs. Foster has requested that PGR escort the family for this event.  Details to follow.  Please monitor this thread for updates.
