A memorial service will be held on
Saturday May 17, 2008
at Schoen Funeral Home located at
3827 Canal St New Orleans, La.
Patriot Guard to meet at the Funeral Home at 7:30am
Visitation will take place from 8 am to 11 am,
a service will be held from 11 am till approx 11:20 am,
he will then transported from the funeral palor at about 11:30 to
the St Louis Cemetery #3 on Esplanade St at Bayou St John.
The procession will be led by police vehicle and will pass in front of the Fire House located on Jeff Davis Parkway or Carrollton Ave. Upon arrival at the cemetary he will recieve full military honors including Taps, an American Flag presentation and a 21 gun salute. My dad is a WWII US Army Pacific Theatre Veteran; a retired Colonel in the Louisiana National Guard; a retired District Fire Chief of the N.O. Fire Dept and a retired Sergeant of the N.O. Police Reserve Division. In addition he was an active member of the Washington Artillery (141 Artillery Battalion), the William Bauer VFW Post #3346 and the Disabled Veterans Post #13. My dad was a avid motorcycle rider having rode motorcyles both in the military as well as his civilian life. He worked several of his early years as a mechanic for "Doc's Harley Davidson" on Broad St in NO and was a member of the Crescent City Motorcycle Club. The France family and friends would like to request the Patriot Guard be in attendence. Thank you for all you do. Joe France.
