Mission Update & Final Itinerary. PGR, Final details and itinerary for the Mission to honor this Hero have finally been confirmed and are as follows; Time of ceremony is 1:00pm MDT, 10 July, at the Little Big Horn National Cemetery, located at the Little Big Horn National Monument located off I-90 17 miles east of Hardin Montana. Staging and mission briefing for this Mission will be at 11am at the Custer Battlefield Museum also just off I-90 at Garryowen Montana (approx. 4 miles east of the Little Big Horn National Monument). At 11:45 am we will proceed in procession along the frontage road from the museum to the National Cemetary with mounted flags and establish our Flag Line(s) at 12 noon. FYI; July in this part of Montana can be extremely warm. While the climate is dry, temperatures can approach 100 degrees fahrenheit, so be prepared with sunscreen and appropriate clothing. I will make sure plenty of water is available. Anyone having difficulties will be quickly attended to. I look forward to meeting those of you who are traveling from all over the country to attend and Montana PGR wishes you a warm (no pun intended) welcome to Big Sky Country. Phone; 406-245-5891 home 406-672-7328 cell

MISSION UPDATE We now have a firm date for this mission. Roger Wolfe has been in contact with me and specified that services will be held on July 10th at the Custer Battlefield/National Cemetery near Hardin, Montana. Although date and location for this mission are confirmed, the actual time is still in discussion. However, it has been narrowed down to either 1000 hrs or 1300hrs. Information regarding staging location/time, escort and other pertinant information will be posted when available.
Respectfully
Wes Lambert Eastern Mt. District Capt. ==============================================================
Patriot Guard, I have just got off the phone with Roger Wolfe, the brother of this Hero. Roger has granted us the permission to attend the Services for Donald which are to be held in May, the specific date and other particulars for this mission to be confirmed after the first of the year. I will then visit with Roger at his convenience and we will discuss his wishes as to how we should execute this Mission. While no Mission PGR members undertake is more or less important than any other Mission, and all deserve the highest levels of Respect and Reverence, I feel this Mission deserves the utmost care and attention as well as participation by all PGR who possibly can make it. This Naval Aviator who gave all for our Country and our Freedom is finally coming home after forty years listed as MIA. While his return may be long overdue, his service hasn't, and never will be forgotten. Wes Lambert Eastern Mt. District Capt. PGR

Navy Crew MIA From Vietnam War is Identified
The Department of Defense POW/Missing Personnel Office (DPMO) announced today that the remains of five U.S. servicemen, missing in action from the Vietnam War, have been accounted-for and will be returned to their families for burial with full military honors.
They are Lt. j.g. Norman L. Roggow, of Aurelia, Iowa; Lt. j.g. Donald F. Wolfe, of Hardin, Mont.; Lt. j.g. Andrew G. Zissu, of Bronx, N.Y.; Chief Petty Officer Roland R. Pineau, of Berkley, Mich.; and Petty Officer 3rd Class Raul A. Guerra, of Los Angeles, Calif.; all U.S. Navy. Pineau was buried on Oct. 8 in Arlington National Cemetery near Washington, D.C. The dates and locations of the funerals for the other servicemen are being set by their families.
On Oct. 8, 1967, Zissu and Roggow were the pilots of an E-1B Tracer en route from Chu Lai Air Base, Vietnam, back to the aircraft carrier USS Oriskany. Also on board were Wolfe, Pineau and Guerra. Radar contact with the aircraft was lost approximately 10 miles northwest of Da Nang, Vietnam. Adverse weather hampered immediate search efforts, but three days later, a search helicopter spotted the wreckage of the aircraft on the face of a steep mountain in Da Nang Province. The location, terrain and hostile forces in the area precluded a ground recovery.
In 1993 and 1994, human remains were repatriated to the United States by the Socialist Republic of Vietnam (S.R.V.) with information that linked the remains to unassociated losses in the same geographical area as this incident. Between 1993 and 2004, U.S/S.R.V. teams, all led by the Joint POW/MIA Accounting Command (JPAC), investigated the incident more than 15 times in Da Nang city and Thua Thien-Hue Province.
Between 2004 and 2005, the joint teams surveyed and excavated the crash site where they recovered human remains and crew-related items. During the excavation in 2005, the on-site team learned that human remains may have been removed previously from the site. S.R.V. officials concluded that two Vietnamese citizens found and collected remains at the crash site, and possibly buried them near their residence in Hoi Mit village in Thua Thein-Hue Province. In 2006, another joint U.S./S.R.V. team excavated the suspected burial site in Hoi Mit village, but found no additional remains. In 2007, more remains associated with this incident were repatriated to the United States by S.R.V. officials.
Among other forensic identification tools and circumstantial evidence, scientists from JPAC and the Armed Forces DNA Identification Laboratory also used mitochondrial DNA and dental comparisons in the identification of the remains.
For additional information on the Defense Department's mission to account for missing Americans, visit the DPMO web site at http://www.dtic.mil/dpmo/ or call (703) 699-1169.

| I would like to extend my deepest condolences to the family and friends of this American Hero who stood tall for his homeland in this very sad time in your lives, but remember that you knew a hero first hand while the rest of us just get to hear about their heroic deeds. My prayers are that our GOD may bring peace and comfort to all of you during this tragic time. Please know that not just me , but a country full of people like me owe you a dept that can never be repaid. But please know that your loved one is now serving in the Army of our LORD in heaven, and the LORD said if I go to prepare a place for you, I will come again and recieve you unto myself that where I am there you may be also. Know that it says in the Bible in 2nd Corinthians 5:8 , we are confident I say , willing rather to be absent from the body and present with the LORD. No one can ever say that your loved one isn't a HERO, they were willing to serve that the rest of us may enjoy the freedom we do today, and the sacrifice you and your family have endured so our nation can remain the home of the free because of the brave. We are all brothers and sisters in arms and we don't forget one of our own, rest in peace my comrade, your mission is complete and now it's time for you to rest. May GOD Bless each and everyone of you. |

After all these years your back home; Lt. Norman L. Roggow, Lt. Donald F. Wolfe, Lt. Andrew G. Zissu, CPO. Roland R. Pineau, PO3. Raul A. Guerra, Washington, U.S. Navy Crew / MIA Vietnam War. You were never forgotten by your loved ones or a grateful nation. Welcome home.
Rest Safely and Securely in God's Loving Arms, Norman, Donald, Andrew, Roland & Paul.
Going home, going home, I'm just going home. Quiet-like, slip away- I'll be going home. It's not far, just close by; Jesus is the Door; Work all done, laid aside, Fear and grief no more. Friends are there, waiting now. He is waiting, too. See His smile! See His hand! He will lead me through.
Morning Star lights the way; Restless dream all done; Shadows gone, break of day, Life has just begun. Every tear wiped away, Pain and sickness gone; Wide awake there with Him! Peace goes on and on! Going home, going home, I'll be going home. See the Light! See the Sun! I'm just going home.
