updated 11 Sept 07 ~ 2016cdt ~ oldiron

Cpl. William "Billy" Warford will arrive at Robert Gray Army Airfield on Fort Hood at 1100 hours, Wednesday, 12 September 2007.

The accompanyment for Cpl. Warford will be from Fort Hood (Clark Gate) to Adams Funeral Home (129 Coleman Street) in Marlin, Texas. The Clark Road Gate to Fort Hood is located on US Hwy 190 between Killeen and Copperas Cove.

Staging at Fort Hood for the Airport/Funeral Home accompanyment will be at the Clark Road parking lot starting at 1030 hours on 12 September 2007. It is approximately 75 miles from the Clark Road Gate to Marlin, Texas.

Lead RC will be Sonny Albert

Asst RC will be Steve "Scout" Cole

 His memorial service will be held at Adams Funeral Home, 129 Coleman Street, Marlin, Texas at 1500 hours on Saturday, 15 September 2007 with interment being held at Clover Hill Cemetery in Lott, Texas following the memorial service.

Marlin Staging will be from 1215-1315 hours at Drews Meat Market. Drews Meat Market is on the Left side as you get on Bussiness 6 South off of Hwy 6. If you have any problems call Snake at 254-709-3201.

Waco Staging will be from 1030-1130 hours at Flying J on New Road (Exit 331 off IH-35).

Killeen Staging will be from 1000-1100 at Kay's Motorcycle Mania in Nolanville, Texas,  (Killeen will not ride to Waco staging)

Mission briefing will be held at the Marlin Staging site from 1400-1415 hours. The plan is to have a flag line established at Adams Funeral Home NLT 1430 hours for the arrival of the family.

An advance party will depart Adams Funeral Home for Clover Hill Cemetery under the direction of Asst. RC Dennis "Sweet T" Christain to prepare the cemetery for the arrival of Cpl. Warford and his family.

Flags and water will be available at both the funeral home and cemetery. However, please bring at least one bottle of water with you for each rider on your bike/cage and include your rain gear.

Snake has met the Warford family,and they are over excited about the PGR being there and even asking how many PGR would be at the funeral. We hope that if you can see anyway to make this ride for the Family and this Hero please do so, I have seen the deep sorrow of this loss and the thrill of the Patriot Guard Riders being there for this Soldier. With that said be safe, may God be with Cpl William Warford and his Family.

We would greatly appreciate flags on bikes/cages for the procession on Saturday as well as the accompanyment on Wednesday. We will not have water available for the accompanyment ride on Wednesday due to the nature of the mission.

Lead RC will be Mike "Snake" Watson

Asst RC will be Dennis "Steet T" Christian

Scout

Thank you, Cpl. William T. Warford III for your service to this Nation. It is because of Patriots such as you that I, my family, and the rest of this great Nation are able to lead the lives we do. It is the soldier that gives us freedom, not the politicians. Only two people ever died for our freedoms. One was Jesus Christ and the other was the American Soldier. The least I can do is pay homage and respect to this Hero and his family.
To the family of this American Hero: We as a Nation grieve with you in the loss of one of our Nation’s best. His adherence to “Duty to God and Country” will not be forgotten. Death is a time to rejoice in the life someone had and the lives they touched on this earth. Life is but a blink of an eye. May the Great Architect take this Hero and his family into his council, protect and heal them.

You don't have to love war, but you do have to love the Warrior!

The sound of 200 people holding flags -- is deafening.

Our sincere condolences to the family and friends of Cpl. William T. Warford III. May God help you though this difficult time and sorrow. Know your son was and is a Hero to us all. Our thoughts and prayers are with you always. He will never be forgotten.

Rest Safely and Securely in God's Loving Arms, William.

Going home, going home,
I'm just going home.
Quiet-like, slip away-
I'll be going home.
It's not far, just close by;
Jesus is the Door;
Work all done, laid aside,
Fear and grief no more.
Friends are there, waiting now.
He is waiting, too.
See His smile! See His hand!
He will lead me through.

Morning Star lights the way;
Restless dream all done;
Shadows gone, break of day,
Life has just begun.
Every tear wiped away,
Pain and sickness gone;
Wide awake there with Him!
Peace goes on and on!
Going home, going home,
I'll be going home.
See the Light! See the Sun!
I'm just going home.
